Israel grew into an adult state in a very short time. With trial and error and with the help from Above... I am very glad to live in an era Where I can witness their developments. Poverty should not exist in Israel, I agree.

@squigglesy israel was actually the only country into the new millennium to have a net growth/increase of trees, i know he meant something else but this is true too.

The good Rabbi is so right . Sadly ,there is too much poverty and inequality in Israel and too many folk trash the environment ,throwing litter etc

I think there is a decent chance that the people of Israel can achieve what the Rabbi has spoken about.

Incredible!! How about treat your neighbor as you would treat yourself? One would think God's people are to be the most merciful of peoples, yet they are the best at chutzpah!

That's absolute rubbish, if any Rabbi of recent times promoted inter religious discussion and understanding it was Rav Sacks.
      Without any doubt whatsoever!!
I suggest you do a lot more reading of his books.

@@chip877 sorry if I am a literalist. He is a Rabbi. A Rabbi is inspired by the Talmud. The Talmud is rabidly anti-Christian.

Israel is also one of the great examples of how to not treat minorities. As for values upon which to build a society: these can only be modern liberal values and I doubt that any religion/ religious book can be a source of them.

Barren landscape? Is he talking about the hundreds of Palestinian villages that were brought down and turned into "natural parks"?
