I have followed homonymous hemianopia (presumably secondary to cortical stroke) and have seen that corresponding homonymous parts of macula thins over time on OCT. Would you say that this is due to retrograde optic atrophy still? Even though LGN sits between cortex and retinal ganglion cells? You did mention that there are exceptions.
