Source Audio Collider Delay + Reverb - Synth Demo

- Source Audio's new Collider combines Delay + Reverb algorithms from their well loved Ventris Reverb and Nemesis Delay. High quality / high fidelity stereo effects engines that sound gorgeous on synth - so I've chosen to do just that. Best enjoyed with headphones / proper speakers as I am outputting the pedal in Stereo.
With my faithful KORG DW-8000 analog poly synth from 1985 I show how to use presets, activate reverb trails, and how to unlock the selector dial to be able to select any algorithm from either side (run two of the same type of effect at once). I explore a bunch of combinations of sounds best suited for dreamy synthscapes.
I do not demonstrate every possible delay and reverb combination as this pedal is vast and there are other Collider videos that most likely walk-through the sounds with guitar. They also have a Neuro editing app and One Series software to further tweak and sculpt detailed presets on the fly. Press play, lay back and enjoy the sound.
* I also realize I fell in love with the unnatural SHIMMER adding that gorgeous ethereal octave effect.
The Collider auto-detects the Inputs and Outputs that are being used and accordingly routes every delay and reverb effect engine in Mono-to-Mono, Mono-to-Stereo, or Stereo-to-Stereo modes. It is also possible to select between series, parallel, and split stereo modes, when both engines are engaged.
Check out their product page / manual for detailed information.

*Thank you Source Audio for sending me this pedal* - Hudba
This video is splendid. Thanks for checking out the Collider - we love where you took this pedal.
It is truly wonderful. Thank you!
Beautiful!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this
awesome demo. thanks 😊
Oh man, great job, so great to hear with synth. I am selling my other delays and reverbs immediately to acquire.
Amazing demo, sounds as a great pedal.
amazing! thanks for doing this
so good man!!!
This thing is so bad ass, I've gotta get one!
Nice….impressed.
Wow!, what a sound quality!
Leaning very heavily toward this to replace my Mercury 7. This demo pretty much convinced me.
The Collider has the Blade Runner type reverbs down and much more - the massive E-Dome. Plus reverse and a bunch of delay goodies to stack. It is a great design and the sounds are insanely hi-fi.
Did you do it? I have Polymoon and Mercury7 (love the mercury7), but this box seems like it would be more versatile, while still giving me those big Merc7 reverbs.
Wow I would of kept the m7, this an excellent dual effect pedal but the m7 also has amazing character and does what it does very well too. I’d get the poly moon and m7 to compliment the collider but maybe that’s overkill. At least I’d be set for verb and delay for the rest of my days.
I love this demo, after hearing this on synths I think it’s great value!
Very cool. Seems like a good entry in the world of stomp boxes for my Moog Subsequent 37 :)
i love everything about this demo except the way you turn pots with your finger lmao
wonder which is the better pedal this or the Nemesis for synths if one was just to have one?
i need one
Can anyone tell me, I want to use this with a Synthesizer and it will be on my desk. Is there a way you can hold/freeze the reverb without having to have a finger or foot pressed on the reverb switch? That’s because I’ll want to freeze reverb then have both hands free to play keys.....
Eventide Space pedal has this 'Freeze' feature that holds the sound the way you want on their Blackhole patch.
Note that the new notes (no pun intended) don't have any effects applied to them. That is what I have read about it. So when you engage the 'freeze' the new notes you play are 100% dry.
That (for me) makes it less favorable.
I thought this could be changed in the software on the Ventris from SonicStates review so might be worth checking the documentation on SA's website. Apologies if I have misremembered though.
@@steventaylor3789 It would be a gamechanger (for me at least) if this was possible. I was (a little bit) disappointed when I heard the dry signal over the nice reverb sound.
@@steventaylor3789 Nope. Not as I would have liked it.
From the manual :
Reverb Hold Function with Dual Processor Architecture
One of the great advantages of the Collider Delay+Reverb’s dual processor architecture is the
opportunity it offers to the Hold function. The Hold function sustains any Reverb engine’s wet signal
indefinitely while pressing down on the REVERB footswitch. As with most effects units that offer
some type of a Hold (a.k.a. “Freeze”) function, it is also possible to continue playing over the top of
the sustained reverb tail. Collider provides the exciting new functionality of being able to play with
delay engaged while holding the reverb trail…all in one pedal.
So you can add delay (or have a cascaded combination of 2 reverbs) but only one DSP is available when you are using the reverb hold function.
The cascaded method would mean your 'wet' sound has double reverb, so after the 'hold' is engaged, you only get one reverb.
I do understand why they had to make it like this (one DSP is busy with the hold effect), but it is a bit less useful for me as the 'live' signal is either dry or you need to combine 2 reverbs and only hear one in the hold situation. (losing the delay option all together)
Anyone know how this compares to H9 Max?
I’ve got an H9 Max but I’m thinking of adding this rather than replacing.
Also looking for comparisons here...
Being able to use delay + reverb at the same time is a big plus over H9 (only 1 algorithm with Delay + Reverb -> and only a single "amount" control for the Reverb)
Had been eyeballing the Ventris and listened to a bunch of comparisons or the reverbs. Both are lovely, H9 is generally more configurable, but the Source Audio stuff seems to be one big sweet spot ;)
Eric Peterson Agreed. This and the Specular Tempus are high on my list.
Check out the Enjoy Electronics Reminder too.
@@b3nj174 Specular Tempus seems to be the ambient monster :) Best shimmer I've heard... If that were the kind of music I made it'd be a no brainer.
I'm 100% clear the interface on the ST would drive me nuts, the reverb seems to really only have 1 algorithm (Spatium) with slight variations, and the delays seem lackluster.
@@b3nj174For a moment I was terrified by the Reminder b/c holy jeezus it's gorgeous to look at and interface for days... but "thankfully" the reverb just sounds terrible ;) --so I dodged that $750 bullet.
