Hmm, these are pretty much the prices for rent here in Canada… though up here, hardly anyone would ever rent out a fully furnished place.

Are you still offering meetups? We are long time subscribers and my husband and I will be in Aijic from April 10-16. Your video about meetuos is at least a year old and doesn't mention the price. Dan will go home on April 16 but I will stay on for about a month longer.

I live on SS $650 and Disability $350, my rent for a 10×10 bedroom is $600 pr month going up to $700 in 2 months I also have to split all utilities costing $250, not much for food. Can't afford a car or taxi or entertainment this is America and what is being done to it's Seniors who worked and paid their taxes, we are insignificant to our country.

What is the least amount of time you can contract to rent, 3 months, 6 months a year? As a widower who needs some dental work I'd like to take a break from our Canadian winter as well as a bit of a vacation and get some dental done.
It's an excellent question for a short time stays let's stay for a month or less Airbnb
Winter rentals are much in demand you can get rentals as short as three months but typically it's going to be six months for snowbirds end it gets cheaper the longer you stay. Do you want to make your arrangements based on what the dental care you're going to need. Ask your dentist how long that type of procedure is going to take and then add onto that two weeks to a month. Typically here in December holidays Christmas through New Year's a lot of businesses close so be aware of that. I recently had some dental work done and I thought it was going to take three weeks but unfortunately my gum out infected and it has taken six weeks to complete my dental work.

I live by the beach and pier . I have a 2 bedroom condo 2 bedroom 1 bath that I bought in 1985 for 75,000 and now are going for almost a million & we had it renovated in Oceanside, California,! I’m not moving I’ll leave it to my kids & I I heard these condo are renting for $ 4,000 to 5,000 a month.!! !

What is the age demographics in the Lake Chapala are? I am looking at the people at the art show at the end of the video and I see almost all seniors, then two teenagers pop up, and is that typical of the area or just of that art show?

The video and the people in it would be very representative of the age group remember it is a retirement community and so you're looking at anywhere from 55 years old to 90 years old there is six women to every man in the Expat community. I have a video for you.

I have a question about how to budget taxes. Since ALL retirement income is taxed - do people really pay 15% on their entire SS retirement benefits???? That is a big chunk - for me it would be an extra $300 a month, significantly changing my lifestyle choices after adding Private Health Insurance 😢

You must pay taxes on up to 85% of your Social Security benefits if you file a:
Federal tax return as an “individual” and your “combined income” exceeds $25,000.
Joint return, and you and your spouse have “combined income” of more than $32,000.
If you are married and file a separate return, you probably will have to pay taxes on your benefits.

Hi Jerry , since in real-estate including rentals location or at least proximity and walking distance to amenities and places like the the Lake Chapala society ,lake ,Walmart etc r so important could u give a short mention of those factors please?? Best for Lori, just an advice exercise in warm water is the best, decreases pain, weight bearing and strengthening of muscles is much easier and faster. A warm pool to do it in makes a huge difference.
