- This week Brad Williams takes a seat in the Wayback! Make sure to check out his newest special "Starfish" on CZcams, his Showtime special "Fun Size," and his special on Netflix "The Degenerates." In this ride, we dive into all things '80s toys, collectibles, and fashion. As a self-proclaimed 'action figure king,' Brad tells us about collecting G.I. Joes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, Transformers, and the often-forgotten Exo Squad. Sparking a memory of his own, Ryan shares the time his mom gave him a Go-Bot's lunchbox beatdown and when he used a Cabbage Patch Doll in quite the creative way. Ryan and Brad discuss some footwear of the '80s, like KangaROOS, Zips, and LA Gear. We even find out Brad's middle school band name and one of the raps he still remembers to this day.

This has been one of my favorite podcasts lately! Great premise, always funny, and only 1/2 hour, the best combination out there for any new pod
Am I the only kid who would write stuff in a note book to hold up for other cars? "Honk if you have gas!" was my favorite. My dad couldn't understand why every one that passed us was laughing and when I told him he laughed so hard he had to pull over.
I used to do that too!! LOL wow I haven't thought of those childhood hijinks I'd pull in the car sometimes. I loved writing funny things like that, mostly because I really felt happy when I made people in other cars laugh or smile. Good times man, really good times. I had an awesome, typical American childhood growing up in the late 80s, early 90s. 😂😂✌️💚
Some times I feel like I grew up on a different planet because I don’t know half the stuff y’all bring up 😂 Teddy Ruxpin doll and LA Gear but that’s about it.

I remember every single toy and jingle mentioned. They are etched into my soul.
I found these amazing slip on shoes with fluffy rabbit ears. I actually got a couple colours because they were cute and super comfy. A bit later I went to my friends nieces 5 year old Bday party and funny enough…she got the same pair of shoes gifted. It was hilarious. I didn’t realize they were kids shoes per se, but I do occasionally buy children’s shoes. I’m just a small woman👟

I remember putting Ride the lightening in the back of a teddy ruxpin. HAHA Im 40 too, i had all those things brad played with. EX squad was my jam. I also grew up in socal and crocodile mile was always something i wanted. instead we got a tarp with dish soup and a house running on it lol. Zips is a fast food restaurant chain in the pacific northwest lol

Think I may have told you, Ryan as a teenager (15)I got mad at my dad on a 5 hr trip. he's still an asshole, but I took a pizza cardboard and made a sign put it up in that back window. It said Help. I'm being kidnapped! Got his ass pulled over. I.giggled the rest of the 3 hrs trip...so did the rest of the kid's. ..

I lost one of my best friends as a kid because he saw The Bride of Chucky the night before he came sleep over. I may have innocently chased him around with The My Buddy until he was crying and hiding under my bed, but i had no idea about Chucky at that time. Well he then called his mom to come get him that night and never came sleep over again...all bc he thought that My Buddy was Chucky...🤣🤣

I'm 28 and sat in a rear facing seat when I was a kid
I lived in the home town of monchichi, Katsushika Japan, a suburb of Tokyo, home to the Takara Tomi toy brand. They have little monchichi statues outside the station. Hahah.
I was born in 1983 and I watched Chucky, then I got My Buddy, and I never fully trusted that thing.
Kangaroos are still a thing. I got 2 pairs, I think now the pouch is just on the inside part of the tongue.
