I had a friend who was obsessed with Peter Cetera. I was always partial to Terry Kath. Amazing guitarist and terrific singer and not bad looking when he dressed up. Triple threat. Man I miss that man: watch the doc on him it’s really cool. His daughter did it and it was very touching.

Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd said that in his early years, he lived by the philosophy of the day, which goes, "Live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse." It's amazing how late some of them lived, looking at how they lived when they were younger. Jamel, I don't know if you will ever see this, but I think it would be a really cool direction for your channel to start investigating some of these stories about some of the bands and artists you have grown to love through this channel. You know the music well enough, and obviously have a great love for it. I'll bet you could not only create some interesting content, but also avoid the bean counters at CZcams, by reacting to videos like this one. It would be cool to see you delving into some of the histories of some of these artists, that might be more common knowledge for those of us who are longtime fans. Maybe don't be afraid to find some solid feature-length documentaries to do movie reactions to, that you can edit down to less than a half-hour. I've been with your channel for a few years now, and I for one would be fascinated to hear your take on some of the legends of the rock legends.

An interesting fact about the studio recording of 25 or 6 to 4: Peter Cetera sang and recorded the lead vocals on that song with his jaw wired shut. A few days before that studio session, he had been at a Dodgers vs. Cubs baseball game in L.A. Some Marines had taken offense with his long hair, and beat the crap out of him, breaking his jaw in several places. He found, to his surprise, that he actually liked his voice better with clenched jaw, and always sang that way after that.
I love them! I have since I was a freshman in high school in 1969. I was lucky enough to see the originals in 1972 at Notre Dame University…I’ve always loved them but their early music when Terry Kath and Peter Cetera were still part of Chicago was at their best! I think they would have stayed at the top without Peter but losing Terry…no way to replace his guitar playing and bluesy voice! His death was such a loss! They are a major soundtrack of my life ❤️❤️❤️
Saw them @ least 10 times. Definitely 1 off the greatest rock bands of all time.They opened once for the band "America" and "America was having a really bad performance and "Chicago ended up backing the band " .
I just saw Chicago in concert this past weekend. Three founding members from 1967, Robert Lamb, James Pankow and Lee Loughnane, are still rocking in this band. Ten incredible musicians were on stage. I saw Chicago in the 90's, and the show I saw the other night was every bit as good as the one from the 90's, and one of the best concerts I have seen in a very long time. 25 or 6 to 4 was in their encore and the last tune in a set list of 26 songs in a performance of over two hours. Fantastic.
Chicago is one of the best bands, but also the most interesting (in the 70s, anyway). I have a LOT of interviews/concerts on my channel. Feel free to use whatever you want. They have three documentaries up on CZcams, etc., and the more I learn, the better.
Just as an FYI bro, As a professional musician of 4 instruments Chicago is the BEST and most complete band ever to play a note, and Terry Kath the guitarist was called by JIMMIE HENDRICKS better than he was when he saw him live
Things are going to happen when your band has a revolving door policy. The Terry Kath tragedy couldn't be helped but they replaced him with Donnie Dacus (who co-starred in the film version of Hair) only to fire him a year or so later. Even today they have only 1 or 2 original members.
It was an automatic handgun. He was not playing Russian roulette. He removed the clip ,took out the bullets but left one in the chamber. He put the clip back in and accidentally shot himself in the head. TERRY KATH was the engine and soul of Chicago. Anything after Terry died was mediocre and too soft. The band is just not the same without Terry. If anyone was irreplaceable in that band it was without a doubt Terry Kath. He was like a white Ray Charles as a singer and a white Jimi Hendrix on guitar. A tremendously talented guitarist and a guy who deserves more acknowledgement for his mastery of the instrument!!

Terry Kath was such a great guitar player that Jimmy Hendrix regarded him as the best. This band is still going strong despite the setbacks.
“Make Me Smile” is my favorite. Terry was the best. Never liked them as much after him.

25 or 6 to 4 is one of my favorite songs of all time! Love the 70's version of Chicago, not a real fan of the 80s pop version
Grew up in Chicago in the seventies, listening to this group saw them at least 22 times missed kath by one year
Oh I also seen them open for "Prince" @ the Fox Theater in Atlanta
So much tragedy with some bands. For me, Skynyrd takes the cake. The original band thru 10/20/77 plane crash and loss of 3 band members.
