Drachenfest 2018: The Morningstar Tourney

- Drachenfest is all about their tournaments and this year was no different! This is the Tourney for the international English speaking group I was part of (The Morningstar!). The key thing with most one on one tournaments is to make the fighting look good even if it's technically not as efficient. I think it went really well!

Imagine any HEMA, kenjutsu or any other historical martial arts practicioner in this duel. Corpses, so many corpses
God I want to try one of these so bad. Though, it'd be harder nowadays to find one where they don't do any HEMA at all. Many groups are bridging into the "real deal" quite a bit.
Still. I couldn't resist just seeing what would happen. I've only studied Fiore at my HEMA club for a good 6 months, but man....

As a referee it is always nice to watch all the videos. I miss all the happenings in the camps but won't trade it for what I am doing now.

I will love to joing your group, I am from israel and I never went to Drachenfest but I in larps about three years

@TheIrishWill I find it funny that you get annoyed that people are subscribing to you for your larping videos when these are some of the BEST videos on CZcams, if not the best. Like honestly, why not crush this niche? You're great at delivering Larping content that makes the entire sport look really friggen cool. Keep at it. :-) Also, you could always attend more larps or make your own; I'd watch and upvote any larp vids you did.
Hey I will be in the Golden Camp this year and want to know at which day the tournament will be this year?
Is this in Ireland? I will buy a friggen plane ticket just to go to wherever this is and compete. I might not do well, but damn would it be fun just to experience it all and take it all in. Also, the Larping from an acting standpoint is amazing too; I love that they each are fighting fair and taking the honour system into account.

I'm trying so hard to like this and I completely respect the passion involved power to you all but it's just so funny. I really think with the effort put into making simulation weapons and armour more attention should be paid to skill and mastering you preferred style and playing a point/ KO based win system. With champions and contenders and and all sorts of fighters with different weapons. Would be a interesting championship

Ah, if only I weren't broke.
See what i like is that you guys act as i there is weight to the weapons... Here in Florida we have WOTS (way of the sword) Its just the combat with foam swords, no larping. so you have people swinging as fast as they can, base ball swinging, and other things that are not as immersive but also not safe.. Full of assholes too. Got baseball swung right at the neck. dude told me "you should have blocked" instead of asking if i was ok while choking. I would have rather played you these guys.
