They are absolutely programmed. They have someone who PROGRAMS them. Otherwise, they don't work.

Eventually they will be safer than humans for driving, plus long haul trucking services would save millions if not billions by being automated. Taxi drivers wouldn’t be needed in fact you wouldn’t need to own a vehicle you could hail one and the whole process would cost far less than owning a car altogether which is what will probably happen

God aside this was my exact thought.
They cannot feel emotions. They can show them because it’s programmed into them how to show them. They will never feel emotions. They might be able to put things together and come up with what to do or not do but they will lack the ability to love or to be empathetic. I just want one that cleans and cooks and then shuts off the rest of the time.
