They should have kept the 3rd test at Lords, and made this series a farewell series of sorts…he is still bowling well after all.

3 excellent international commentators. Ian Bishop is a superb voice for the game. Right up there with Sanga and Mel is improving all the time. All 3 have proper authority.

@@markhammond150 I get why they do it. Over the years they get less connected wit the modern game. But I would always have kept one or two on as the "elder statesperson". Radio did it for years with Blowers and Johnners etc. I know TV is a different beast, but Gower would have been a good studio person. Doing the "Richie" job at the top and bottom of the program.

James Anderson is still fit. His line and length is exceptional. He still has the firepower. ECB should be credited for taking care of him. A cool guy. All the best to him. He is the best person to guide the english fast bowlers and the team as a whole.

As an indian no. Once a player is retired, he should be done. MS Dhoni for eg. Dare I say this. The past 3 years he has struggled with knee issues . Still fairly fit but clearly comes only at the end. He struggled this year after every match. I'm saying for his own good that he retires. Every great irrespective of where he's from has a shelf life. Warner time's up. Past 2 years, not so great. Jimmy's effectiveness had declined in the India series and the Ashes. Steve Smith and Kane are past expiry date. After you retire there's no point playing leagues. Nation is well above leagues. I am embarrassed to see players playing legends league for money.

ECB should have let James Anderson play all three test matches against the West Indies so he could have tried to break Shane Warnes 708 record and then given him a good send off at the end of the series. Its a big mistake I am very angry at ECB.

    • @ashwinhariharan310

What's there to inspire??? If India is 36 all out we know we can come back strongly. But these guys are clearly inexperienced. Can't play the moving ball. Can't play good pace. No intent. And it's been like this for years. I understand that players can't be Gayle, Lara or chanderpaul or Walsh overnight. But the spark is lacking. All ex WI players along with the rest of the world were so joyous after Gabba last year. But it feels like an anomaly
