- I have been looking at new lifts for the shop that l can walk under and still move the lift around. after seeing what vice grip garage added to his garage I was sold. calling wildfire and speaking to Brad I then placed an order for the larger of the 4 post they offer. this video shows what it would take start to finish if you were to tackle the assembly by yourself. it was recommended to have 2 people but I gave it a shot alone. www.wildfirelifts.com

Am I the only one who is stunned he has been in the “new” shop for a year and half !?!?! Wow how time flys !!!
No you're not. I was going to say the same thing. Add in all of the years at the home garage.....I was also surprised to hear he is in my age group @ 56 y/o.
Surely it's only been six months! Also stunned.
I know he outgrew it, but I still miss the old shop.
@@prezzzrock Me too, although I do not know why.
@@prezzzrock I'm sure his wife and neighbors don't. The only thing I miss about it is him speeding around the back yard at warp speed after completing a job...
Congrats on the purchase! You'll really enjoy it. Clever technique raising the posts. You've always got great ideas bud!
VGG got peepers mustie1.
right back at you sir, thanks for checkin in and steering me to wildfire,
Dereck: Did you get the frame lift attachment? I didn’t see it in your erection (No snide remarks, please.) video and ran over to Wildfire’s website to check that they had one. Essential accessory for working on suspensions and brakes.
I watch every video from both you guys. I know you guys far apart but a collab would be fun sometime.
I would want them both on my pit crew if I had one. If they couldn’t make it run, no one can.
Funny you talk about getting old and working on cars....then taking a day off...I did the front brakes on my pickup over the course of a day and a half, my knees were screaming the whole time. Took 3 days to recover....I could barely hobble around.
I love how Mustiedoes everything in a way that is easy, by working smart. He doesn’t over exert himself.
mustie1 watches VGG....my life is complete knowing that
One man's rusty junk is a guy's weight reduction. Now put that on a pillow.
@@bobadam7021 now we just need mustie to start talking with his hands more and giving us the whistling sounds and we can call it a wrap....lol. I am going to lose it the first time I hear mustie say "digicals"......😂😂😂😂
now he can stand up and chance the hubilaters.
And Jeff at ElderlyIron watches Mustie!
AVE named dropped Mustie too
Ha! When I saw that on Vice Grip Garage, I was thinking “Mustie should get one of those” 😄😄. Now I need one for my new shop👍
Dang it DAVE! You beat me too it!
As a follower of VGG, I had the same idea, this is what Mustie1 needs!
Oh i don't know.
I had the exact same thought.
Same here.
What a real gent our buddy Mustie is, even tipping the forklift driver 🎩🎩
Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that. Good man.
When a guy watched Derek put his lift together he thought he just had to have one for himself....BRING THE THUNDER!!!
Well I'll be dipped. Another VGG fan. A guy has to acknowledge a guy for his comment.
I can't lie. I had a few cold snacks watching this vid'ja.
Or you could just do it "the right way"
That lift is waaaaay too tall...perfect :-)
@@Craig_Simpson this lift needs two people to fix it so i did the right thing
You can tell how late he stayed up the first night, and how anxious he was to get back the next day based on the Nike on his left foot and a New Balance on the right foot. Noticed it about the 46:00 mark, I don't know why I noticed.
I thought i noticed that but wasnt sure
Too funny.
Dang. If you’d been at Shawshank, Dufreign wouldn’t have made it out.
I had to go back and look. And i laughd my ass off.😂
He likes to wear different shoes on different feet 🦶
I laughed when he took back his sand filled jack stands. Those are too cool to give up.😀
From starting in gravel to finally graduating to concrete and a small garage... I can appreciate what you’ve accomplished..
I'm so happy for you Mustie. Getting old limits us and things we did much younger. Glad you got the awesome lift and this is gonna add years to your production and therefore your viewers enjoyment. Homerun all the way.
Funny it sounds like we all watch VGG and Mustie1....cheers to a group of like minded guys. Where the comment sections are not ruined.
I think all of us in the "wrenching community" seem to be like minded and gravitate towards each other. Mustie, Derek, Junkyard Digs, thunderhead, Deboss, Dylan,.....and yes Goonzquad....lol....as well as some others really contribute alot to the car community on youtube. 😊😊
@@RickMiddleton-1 Throw AVE and Squatch253 in there too lol.
@@GeminiWoods oh yeah....I should add a few more as well.
@@RickMiddleton-1 The Skid Factory, Bad Obsession Motorsport. The list goes on...
And it looks like its even an international community, greetings from Germany I learned a lot technical stuff here on CZcams and become better every day wrenching on stuff to keep my vehicles alive for decades and not spending money on modern electronics stuff that breaks when it wants to!
Wildfire lifts is now going to come with an assembly video showing single person assembly. :-).
I love how patient and methodical you are.
You also watch vice grip garage :-)
Dosen't everybody.
@@ericnelson6982 Well I’ll be DIPPED
a guy should always watch VGG with a cold snack
I’m at 75 now and I sure would love to have one to see me through to 85+! Should have got one 20 years ago!
When I saw Vice grip garage having one installed I was impressed and I think that you putting one in your shop was an object lesson in how thoughtfully these lifts are designed and engineered, seeing as you completed the whole task without any issues and alone. A real bonus and such a boost to productivity, ease of working and filming. Very best wishes from the UK
I was not expecting the wheels coming down and being able to roll the lift around. What an awesome lift. Thanks for showing this.
That's a party trick if I've ever seen one. That lift looks like an awesome bit of kit!
well you've waited a long time for that, well deserved , enjoy your higher status awesome piece of kit
When I was 78 I bought a used AMMCO lift. Unlike the lightweight metal of the wildfire it was extremely heavy. Start to finish and my wife is in her sixties we had it up and ready to go in less than four hours. Adjusted the cables later on prior to lifting a vehicle. No big deal just be careful regardless of your age it falls on you and won't have to worry about getting any older.
Well deserved, congratulations on the new lift!
When he went to pick up the uprights who elese was thinking “ just use the forklift”.
I saw you tip the forklift guy! You're a good dude, Mustie :)
Saw that too I was thinking same thing
I try
Class act all the way round.
I almost forgot, Lifts are like Pools. You'll have drop-in friends, some that you haven't seen for years... LOL.
Pool, or a good trailer with a winch!
Lol! True!
I have friend that is a M.D, and when he's at get-togethers where leaches bug him with their problems, he always asks them to strip down.. :D Usually they take the point..
I had no idea I had so many friends moving until I bought my pick-up .
Looks great, Mustie1! Looking forward to all of your videos. Thanks for sharing!
The pain of the price is long forgotten when the quality is long remembered
true
@@mustie1 When you are staring 60 in the face, the price seems reasonable to me fella!! Congrats best of luck!!
Yep. Buy once, cry once.
So a 56-year-old gets a lift to help himself. You deserve this Mustie 1.
Best of luck with this and stay safe.
WOW! That thing is absolutely awesome! Kudos to you on all the awesome vids you provide..
One suggestion; there is a "C" clip that attaches to the shroud behind the motor and oil tank that should be used to clip the hydraulic hose to insure its safety, especially when lowering the lift.
When you started explaining I was totally thinking about VGG. When you finally said it, the word “awesome” involuntarily came out of my mouth. It’s a great Lift! I’m super pleased with this upgrade to the shop. Can’t wait to see you put it to good use. Well done Must. Well done.
This is a prime example of why I love watching your videos... You draw on your innate intelligence and wealth of experience to figure out the easiest/safest/most efficient way to do things, instead of trying brute force and/or simply giving up! I'm older than you, so please don't take this wrong -- but you remind me of my Dad! He was born and raised in Germany, and completed his training to become a tool and die maker in the old-fashioned German apprenticeship program. He could do pretty much anything, from repairing your watch, to plumbing, carpentry, automotive repairs, paving/concrete work, etc! And everything he did was well-thought-out, like you!
He would have loved your channel; he would have loved your garage! Unfortunately, he passed away 20 years ago... Thanks for reminding me that incredible men like him are still around! ((((((((((hugs)))))))))))
I admire your courage. You'll tackle any project.
Thank you for your willingness to share these videos. They are a positive thing during all the negativity in the Country
As a guy that has worked alone for most of my adult life I can really appreciate a lot of the little subtle tricks for making one man do the work (slowly) of 2 or 3 guys. I especially that pause before you commit to a move to make absolutely sure everything is in place. I really enjoy your channel and I've shared it with a lot of friends.
It never ceases to amaze me watching Mustie do the work of 2 people and yet still film it all as well. A great start to Sunday as usual watching a Mustie1 video drinking my coffee. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it
@@mustie1 I should have also said congrats on getting such a useful device for the shop. That should help keep your body in working shape longer.
Great piece of kit Mustie. Will make life so much easier.
Congrats on the lift! What an amazing piece of kit... excited to see the videos you make with this guy.
Love to hear VGG getting some love. I heard Mustie getting recommended by Watch Wes Work earlier. Love the channel, I've learned a lot and you've saved me a lot of money since I subscribed to you!
AVE mentioned him in his recent pressure washer video
Learned alot from all
"Rookie"... HA! If you're a rookie, then you are the one I want on my team!! Love the shout out to Derek on Vice Grip Garage... I do enjoy it when one of my favorite channels references another one, and although you two would seem to be opposites, I don't think that would get in the way of your friendship!
Nice bit of kit; you are obviously thrilled, and rightly so.
Congratulations on the new lift...wow you are gonna love it! Thanks for sharing.
That lift is waay cool. Looks like Mustie is rockin' The Wolverine silver muttonchops.
Capt Kangaroo
** saw it lift itself up onto the wheels and roll with one hand**
“Huh... no shit”
Nice lift. My dream is to have a garage big enough to have something like this.
That is an AWESOME lift! It went together nice! Injoy your videos!
I'm happy for you buddy, I could feel your excitement you have busted your ass and earned this you deserve it I'm looking forward to your videos using this
It's got wheels? Next week on Mustie1 - "Let's see if we can find an engine for this thing and see what she does on the track..."
Not gonna lie, If Mustie started a video with him just rolling around the corner of the go-kart track sitting on a couch on the top of this thing, that'd probably be the funniest shit I'd ever see in my entire life. Bonus points if it had a mile-long steering column attached to a lawn mower engine puttering the whole thing along.
“Keep the jokes to yourself” were all 12 yr olds at heart
lol,,,thats what my last 2 wives have said to me , that i was "60 yrs old going on 12"
Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional...
Steven Bauer ...my statement for sure.
I wish I could like this video more than once! I am so happy for you! Great addition to the shop!
Nice lift! Great job with installation! Fun to watch as always
when assembled i thought ' that's a neat lift ' , then he raised it & put the bus under it ' that's a really neat lift ' , then when he wheeled it to the side ' here take my money & deliver it to me please '
when l saw it move l had the same reaction
the price is sensible too, great find!
Haven't seen the personalized plate on the truck before - cool
I was hoping to see 'Krustie1' on the VW pickup
Might be on there to hide the actual plate. Plenty of internet stalkers around! :)
So happy for you mustie1 ...long time subscriber here, and watched about every damn video from beginning to end... you definitely paid your dues to have that dream come true... 100% well deserved! ...Keep doing what you do. 😎👍
Awesome lift. I’m glad to see you getting better tools that like you said take some of the wear and tear off of you. Great channel and great work, thank you for all of the time and effort you put into it!
I lol'd when you put the "FREE" pile together - I had already said to myself I wanted those stands on the right - then you quickly pulled those back!!! Good Form! And thanks for another Great Mustie 1 video to go with my Sunday morning covFEFE!
Heh, same here, I've coveted Mustie's sand filled jack stands ever since I first saw them on the channel.
BMAWG1968 ya those are really cool.
Nothing better than mustie on Sundays. I've learned a few things watching Mustle, VGG, and watch was work
Hi Mustie;
You sold it on me!!!
I’m already 70+.
I just ordered that same lift for me.
I have 14’ trusses in my pole barn. This looks perfect. Now I have to wait a month or so for it to come in.
I’ve been putting off fixing the trailer hitch on an old Subaru which is rusting through. I was dreading the job when I saw your YT.
Thanks for motivating me (kick in the pants really) to investigate a lift.
I agree the Wildfire is the best bang for the buck.
One difference is I got the “Hand Bridge Jack” which suits me better as I don’t do this for a living. Besides my compressors capacity is a bit small.
Anyway thanks much!!!!!!
redrok
Good for you, man! Very glad to see you finally have real lift. Easier on you and better videos for us. :)
For anyone who wondered how Stonehenge and the Pyramids were built,we've just had a lesson in prehistoric genius!. Brilliant!!!.
If you want to see a little guy move heavy stuff around, go over to Matt Cremona’s channel.
75 is just a number. I love how the traffic signal is in time with the build. Keep up the good work man, you are an inspiration!
You sure made that install look easy! Perfect lift for your shop!
You are the man! I love watching you put things together. Great Channel and Great Vid. Stay safe!
What a great bit of kit, never seen one that can be moved like that.
Got to get myself one.....and a garage, yeah i'll need one of those first....
(With a high ceiling).....😀
As my dad would have said, use this in good health, Mustie. You deserve this. Thanks for all the vids.
Awesome lift. Congratulations on the success of the channel!
You made that look easy, best of luck with your new purchase.
You sound like a kid on christmas day. Great to see and well deserved.
Yes Mustie now sunday is really rockin
Been thinking about one of these lifts for awhile now. Will now go ahead on purchasing one of these.
You've worked for your supper
You're a Staple on CZcams
You deserve a decent garage and tools,
now your videos can reflect this.
I'm very happy for you!
As you get older, your body tells you what you can and can’t do......ain’t that the truth!!
Except for that part of your brain that keeps saying Yes I can, yes I can. Been there, done that, paid for it. ;-)
LoL... the body is smarter then the brain sometimes...
absolutely affirmative.
I sometimes ask older people what is the age they are when they look upon the World about them. Most if not all say a time before they got married or the date of their first child.
Irish and EU Citizen
That VGG channel is a hoot I like watching his escapades.
Wow, congrats! An awesome addition to the shop for sure!
That's an awesome setup. I'm happy for you and your back. That lift is going to add years to your life.
On a future Mustie1: installing a beam crane in the shop.
I was thinking the same thing!
When I watched VGG put his together it seemed fairly straightforward but obviously much easier with more people involved in the process...lol. Derek was very pleased with all the functions it provided as for being "mobile" as well. After now seeing you and Derek both have this lift it has helped me in my decision as to wanting to buy the same one for my shop. I do classic ford restorations in my pole barn garage I recently constructed at my house. Seeing the mobility and storage options this provides makes this choice a "no brainer" it would seem.
Very cool. What a neat piece of kit Dazz! It's going to make things much easier for you.
Oh man oh man oh man, I'm so excited for the future videos with this awesome piece of equipment!
I’m 54 and still working on ground. Building a garage with a lift this fall. Sick of cleaning snow off of cars too😂
You could fabricate some large steel pads for under the feet if you were worried about the slab thickness.
I was thinking same thing but just for a little extra safety. Than you could shim it to absolute level as well. I would also weld gussets in corners of factory pads to post but that's just me and I like overkill on safety with heavy objects above me.
Probably the best 4 post instructional video that I have seen thus far!
Hey Thanks again Mustie! Both myself and my cousin who is a retired vet in Alaska are longtime fans:) This video helped him pull the trigger on this lift and a few other accessories (He also purchased a set of plates that allow you to make the whole surface covered. It will be great for parking his various 4 wheelers, mowers and snowblowers etc out of the way during the winter ). Really have appreciated all of the great content over the years.
That lift is really nice! Great purchase man!
Who needs 2x people when you have 1x Mustie1? Nice job & look forward to seeing how it performs over time!
Congrats on the new lift mustie hope it makes life easier for you love all your videos enjoyed the one too from Jim in Ireland
Congratulations on the new lift, Darren. I look forward to future episodes with you using it. Best of luck with it!
he's a good guy that Derek, vice grip and musti1 is sundays viewing, perfic.
I stopped being a mechanic because of low lifts (I am 6'6"), doing a totaly different job now.
That lift of yours is a nice peace of equipment, it's huge! Love it!
Love your ability to adapt and find a way…patience is a great part of your success..
Congrats man! You definitely deserve such a nice upgrade to the shop! I expect you will get years of great use out of that beast! So glad to see you getting an awesome new toy!
I bought a lift like this about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the tools you have, and I think my back still hurts today from moving the parts in place. Happy
Great job. I remember when Eric the Car Guy got his lift. His joy was immense not having to get down on the concrete 8 hours a day.
It will pay for itself because you will maintain all your vehicles undersides so much more.
Nice new addition to your new shop. Happy days! 😊
Congratulations on the lift it will be a great help for you. I like watching you solve the problems at hand. Please stay safe, and thank you.
I saw this when Derek got it over at VGG - and it looked really nice, but he had them install it. Kudos to you for doing it all by yourself.
I watched the father and son owners of Wildfire Lifts put together the lift for Derek- Vice Grip Garage. This is a great piece of equipment for a you Mustie1!
This will certainly be more entertaining
Nice lift,I'll be able to watch your videos for another ten years, congratulations on your purchase.
No one is more deserving of this sweet accommodation Mustie! May it serve you well for many years to come and make life much easier. Keep up the great work and great content
If I had ‘heros’, you’d be one. I so appreciate all the work you do and the way in which you execute it. I’m on my way to building my ‘retirement shop’ and this is a great example of one of the tools I’ll be looking at/need as I too am your age and being partly disabled, I can no longer jump under and swing down to the ground like I used to on my trucks. Nowadays it’s just far too wasteful to bring your work to a shop for someone else to do what you already know how to do.
Mustie, you have one fantastic channel and one more definite lifetime fan. S.
I so wanted to see that butterfly transition to a solarized image and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida fade in.
Excellent video and lift, M. Well-deserved, I'd say. Thanks for sharing.
Super glad to see you get this. It's the right thing to do!
I'm sold. When you put the wheels on it and were able to roll it around the shop, that did it for me. I put it on the Christmas list
