I had a classic blunt bob that was growing out so I cut layers into it myself at home DIY and transformed it into a nice layered short bob - really high at the back so lots of volume plus movement all over. I went even shorter than before with this one it's almost a pixie haircut! Difficulty level not high, just you do need a bit of courage and commitment plus it's tiring on the arms! I hope you enjoy watching this Haircut Tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it!

Don't really see many DIY hairstylists at home cutting such a short layered bob style so i hope this video helps you! Now that i've done it it's so short a bob its almost a Pixie cut, when i tuck my hair behind my ears! Love it!

I think it's humourous how certain hairdressers get upset when people cut their own hair (when 1, the hairdressers I always go to never get it right, and 2 it usually cost $50-90 even just for a trim... I don't make that much, hairdressers... 😅)

U shd try it if u r interested! It’s really fun n cathartic to take control over your own hair! This cut is a bit more challenging but u can start w the blunt Bob style (check my other videos) which r really quite foolproof

This is remarkable to be able to do this on yourself! I actually went to cosmetology school, and although I completed all of the required hours, my life trajectory changed and never officially got certified to actually continue the career, but I've still always cut all of my family's hair to utilize my skill. I've done many bobs over the years, particularly on my daughter, and even with hours of training and instruction to guide me, I've often found it somewhat difficult to get an even, perfectly graduated stack on ANOTHER person. I can't even fathom doing it on myself! Your results are beautiful and this length looks so good on you too! This is such a great job, I'm so impressed! 👏

Doing diy haircuts is just a random offshoot effect from the pandemic for me lol - I guess I’m lucky I didn’t botch this layered cut on myself up! It’s grown out to be very fluffy n bottom heavy though I think soon I’m gonna blunt it with clippers at home to grow out as a blunt Bob

I'm sorry, I seemed to have missed your previous comment! I came back to your video for a refresher and just happened to come across it!
While I did generally enjoy cosmetology school, I personally have always preferred coloring and styling more than cutting because they were just more instinctual to me. Highlights and updos and blowouts and those type of things always came so easily and naturally to me, even without having any formal knowledge. But cutting though, that was very much a learned, "by the book" task for me!
I think for some people {you MOST DEFINITELY included) there's just an inherent knack for creating pleasing shapes and flattering lines; they just have a natural "feel" for cutting hair. It didn't happen that way for me! I worked to develop that skill and eventually I got comfortable with it, but it can be a very difficult skill to master, education or not!
My (VERY long winded) point being, if this is something you enjoy doing, you should absolutely keep going and grow your skill! It may have been born out of necessity rather than pursuit, but you've uncovered a very impressive natural talent! If it peaks your interest, it's definitely worth pursuing! And, just think, as an added bonus, you can begin saving a whole lot of money by cutting your family's hair yourself! 😉

I think I do a lot of arts and crafts and handiwork in general so maybe I just got a good pair of paws that create stuff 😁 colouring n styling r very high level skills compared to just cutting for me. I was interested to learn how to color my hair but then when I got started there was just so much that was so confusing!!!

I usually put a piece of paper ( newspaper or wrapping paper) in the sink before cutting my hair.
This makes for an easier cleanup.
