It's so funny, it's not that complicated of a song, yet, it's all about the right way to hit the drums. Nick Mason has that "touch" just like David Gilmour has that touch to his guitar. Yet drummers hardly ever get recognized for having it since the faster and filler guys get the lions share of attention, But make no mistake, Mason was brilliant.

The thing that amazes me is how he’s able to keep the beat with snare drum throughout the song and all while doing other things with the his right hand and foot on the pedal. I’m sure all drummers are able to do this but this guy does it so well.

I could not agree more. Great job. It’s so simple that it gets frustrating when u mess up a note or two, simply because the pressure to play an “easy” song perfectly.... I’ve been playing(intermittently) for 7 years or so, and I still struggle in the memorization department. Thank god for epic slow, “simple,” songs like this! They can help build the confidence of a beginner or a non-natural drummer. Thanks for the cover and great job!

I am a beginner drummer. And this song is easily one of my favourites. It’s simple, although still pretty challenging with the tempo and the dubble kicks being so randomly placed.
You can try Creep by Radiohead too 😉

See this is the type of drummer I am simple, yet keeps perfect timing, and just sounds good and adds the perfect balance to the song as a whole! So many people think you have to be a double bass, flashy, filler, type drummer too be considered good 😂 Nick Mason and many other drummers like this prove simple is sometimes best!

Many drummers try to take this relatively simple part and make it overly complicated, with the result of butchering a great drum part. Not exactly the way I've seen Nick Mason play it, however, you didn't try to make the piece something it isn't. Good job.

At about the 5:30 mark when you do the triplets you do “diggety diggety diggety diggety.” When I listen to the song I hear “diggety diggety diggety dum.” They both work, obviously, but what do you hear and what does your sheet say? Love this track, btw.....and very nice job!
