As a former Petty Officer 2nd Class in the US Navy I love seeing the inner workings of the JMSDF. It's so cool to see the similarities to each other. I even found a Japanese Army Navy store in Tokyo across the river from Ichigaya train station and bought a JMSDF shirt from there.
Out of all the countries in the world. I think the Japanese people are the best. You could see this with how everyone was helping one another after that big tsunami. There wasn't riots and pillaging. Everyone came together and helped one another. The world can learn from the Japanese culture.
