- The London borough of Brent was the most diverse: at the time of the last census in 2001, 29% of residents were white British, 18% Indian, 10% black Caribbean, 9% other white groups, 8% black African and 26% from other groups. The ONS said any two people in Brent had an 85% chance of being from different racial groups.
Kilburn is a down-to-earth multicultural district centred on busy Kilburn High Road, which is lined with mainstream stores, traditional pubs, and chain burger bars. Chinese, African, and Caribbean eateries serve the local community. The Kiln Theatre presents original drama and has a cinema, while the Gothic Revival-style, 19th-century St. Augustine’s Church features a towering spire and an impressive vaulted ceiling. ― Google
Kilburn High Road is an important local town centre and is designated as one of 35 ‘major centres’ in the Mayor’s London Plan (2010).
The high road has lots of shops - both large retailers and small independents - a market, library, restaurants, pubs, and the Tricycle Theatre and Cinema. These all help to create Kilburn’s character, and offer a wide range of goods and services to local residents as well as to evening visitors to the restaurants and other

Brings back a lot of memories.Used to live in Kilburn in the 1980s .Live in America now.Used to work in the Brondesbury Pub around the corner from Kilburn Park Tube.Also in the North London Tavern ,The Earl of Derby and the National Ballroom on the Highroad.The National was one of the busiest places in all of England.I wish I had a £ for every round of drink I served in that place ,I'd be in St Tropez now!!
Was over there about 12 years ago ,it was changed then and it looks even more changed now.There was a dozen pubs on the High Road and it looks like half of that now.They are sanctuaries for the Irish and English who don't want to leave or can't leave.
I learned a lot around there and met some great characters,the best was Jimmy "The Bookie" O'Shea.He used to take bets on the horses in the Falcon Pub ,near Queens Park Station.I used to help him when he got real busy.He is now buried in his beloved native Cobh, County Cork ,RIP Jimmy you were one of a kind ,when God made you He threw away the recipe!
Worked over 32 years in New York City and now want to get out of here.The show is over.And like London it has seen better days ,I'm sorry to say.

@@patrickglennon7058 Yes ,Patrick ,I do remember.I think you said you were in California or Nevada in one of the casino towns.Yes ,you are absolutely right America is in a downward spiral and the next few years will tell a big story.I am seriously thinking of going home myself.Havent lived there since 1978 ,when I left school.Never worked there.So ,in a way , it would be a bit strange for me going back.I'll see .
I know one thing ,I wouldn't be spending much of the winter down in Cork with all that rain.

What is something that sounds like ''the golti more''. A British singer from the 1980s said he remembers good times on the Kilburn HIgh Road across the golti more, or something like that. Does it ring any bells, could it be a pub?
grew up in south kilburn in the 70s then hanged around kilburn in the 80s kilburn sq the peel tennyson road my stomping ground. many memories the kebab shop kilburn high road.. in the 80s was our hang out. state cinema cant forget that kilburn my manor for life.KB.

I used to live at brondesbury and high street. Some of my fondest memories there. Shout out to the sidewalk rappers on the weekends and the 5p haircuts in the market near the photoshop.

Opposite the Primark Store at approximately 3 minutes you have Brondesbury Villas where Sean Connery lived between 1957 and1958 (before he was famous) - No doubt he walked up and down Kilburn High Road on many an occasion.

I have got (still)friends there in Queens Park,Brondesbury Park, but none of them goes to Kilburn high street for a shopping!
It's full of Beggar's (as you know) it's full of Chavs,Thief's!
Yesterday I was there right infront of Sainsbury's A black woman with Heavy African accent whilst she was trying to take money from ATM machine of Sainsbury's she was distracted by 2 men her pin numbers card details taken and she wasn't sure if they had taken her card or her card got stuck in the machine 🤔
So security of Sainsbury's were trying to help her.
I was stopped many times by Eastern European girls asking for money surely I ignored never mind the Beggar's!!
People they litter as if they used to litter back to wherever they come from! You can't find a British Restaurant even an Italian Restaurant they all left Kilburn!
It's become a middle east area sadly and the authorities doing nothing about it.

@@livelifeinmotion21 In countries like Singapore it is more than 75% Chinese because they practise homogeneity. They don’t allow open borders or refugees who cannot assimilate, coming in on boats everyday. Russia is the same. So is China. I’ve lived in singapore and it is Majority Chinese. Hardly any blacks. Just Indians and Malays that make up the rest, along with Whites. They are successful because they are homogeneous.
