Gere was very popular at one time, but I think he's always been an enigma, and not a likable one. Maybe his characters, but not in real life. I think he's very egotistical and worried about his image. He's an activist in personality as well. He always has to be involved in something that's not what everyone else does. I think she's just very pretty normal person and they were a horrid match.
