If you want a short answer, basically he used copilot to write code for him which left a boolean flag to True instead of False. As a result, he was making calls to Stripe's API to generate Invoice PDFs that was costing him 0.4% of the transaction.
Lesson is to not blindly rely on generated code and review it, read docs and understand what it does. Well, if you are a millionaire and own 24 startups, it doesn't matter.
Lesson is to blindy rely on generated code to later find out that it the generated code has an issue which makes you aware of a problem that you can turn into your own saas solution to print money :)

if you're doing recurring with stripe , the invoice is enabled by default and cannot be disabled (that's another frustration , create a stripe competitor now :) )

it's not clear from the docs that you'd be charged, especially when you've turned it off in settings. In this case it's just as likely a developer would make the mistake as AI written code.

@@marc-lou If you're using the one-time invoices, those are 0.4% my bad. It's the billing plans that went up to 0.7% from 0.5% on the starter plan
