I miss them days. Harlem World, Disco Fever, the Roxy. The early 80's was the Freshest time for the hip hop culture. Graffiti Deejaying, breaking and emceeing. My time 💯
This is the type of stuff that you can only appreciate if you lived it. I don't think the new generations could ever understand how fly this s*** really is. 💯 Chopping up that John Davis!!
Casanova Fly (G.M. Caz) is the Ultimate M.C...can rock the crowd, and then take You to the streets 'n get lyrical!!! DJ Whiz Kid & MC Dota Rock: R.I.P.!!!
Back in the day when this was real positive hip hop and no negativity and when the deejays and mc's knew how to groove the crowd with such effortless wizardry! Whiz Kid is and always will be a legend of the wheels of steel and the real Darth Vader of the cross fader. Much respect and peace!
Raw & hip, Even then you can hear the timelessness of the music by the Dj & Mcs. Cause if you at a party and the Dj hands someone to spit over a beat and they start rhyming with out preparation, it's gone sound jus like this!!!!💯
My peeps Dot & Whip the original Salt and pepper I wish I still those tapes of Caz,JDL,Dot,Whip & T Bone before they split up into the Cold Crush 4 & The Fantastic 5
Dang this definitely take me back to sitting on the stoop. Hearing Radio man coming through with the big box playing tapes from last night's show. I was cutting this songs last night for my girl showing her how it was done when I was a kid. Nice upload
I used to love going to The Valley to hear the grand mixer dst tear it up he had a vicious crew tricky tee, love squid,Malibu,Kimba, shahiem,kc,bill Blas and so on
Word wiz kid was nice ! I'm listening at this joint bobbing my head to the beat lol Hip Hop.in its early and best stages ! R.I.P To Dota Rock and. Wiz Kid. Your Music lives on .
Funny thing a friend of mines brother died like in 1984. We were at his wake and DST approached me ( he was there viewing another person) and I said hey bro and he said aren't you so and so from so and so and replied nah man". He said You look like somebody I know". I was like wow! Last time I saw him. Seen him first at BX River Center in 82, Kips Bay in 82 before Rockin it with Herbie Hancock
I feel you. There was nothing like seeing Whiz on the stage doing it. Dude had some much finesse on the wheel. He looked like he was doing the electric boogie when he was cutting.
I feel you. He made me a tape at his cribe around 1982. His fader was busted and he killed it using the volume faders up and down style and you couldn’t tell the difference. That tape was so hot somebody broke into my cribe and stole it.
Check the Whiz Kid Theodore vid on my page, it shows no-one could ride a beat like Whiz Kid, the rhythms he gets out of two offset doubles still sounds fresh
