- Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution, starting with the basics of EAS reactions, mechanisms and reactivity, followed by substituent effects including ortho meta para directors and activating / deactivating groups.
We’ll begin with an overview of the EAS reaction and its use in synthesis, what drives the mechanism including stability and sigma complex intermediate resonance.
We’ll look at the common reactions including aromatic halogenation, nitration, sulfonation, friedel-crafts alkylation and friedel-crafts acylation.
We’ll look at ortho meta and para groups and how substituents act as activating or deactivating groups as well as its relationship to directing effects.
And of course, lots of practice to ensure you can follow along

orgo I and need to know it for the DAT
i need help with reactions
A Nitrogen with 4 bonds is confusing enough. Then you throw in the Sulfur with 6 bonds. AHHHHH!!!!! 🧠💥
Tricky, right? That's what makes them such super electrophiles. Use my Formal Charge tutorial to help you quickly follow along leah4sci.com/formal-charge
@@Leah4sci Thank you very much! I'll watch it today.
Hope it helps
Thank you ...
You're very welcome
Yes plz teach blocking group
I don't have a video on it at the moment. The idea is to add a sulfate group to the para position, then add whatever you need ortho. Once done use acid to remove the blocking group and you get an ortho only product
Having difficulty in all of the organic chem 2 don't know where to start from so as to feel like am improving
Depending on how much time you have, I recommend creating a schedule that allows you to tackle one topic at a time, from the beginning to rebuild from the foundation up
I want to know more about it.
more about what?
Where did you learn chemistry from?
You so much understand mechanism
School and personal study. What can I say? I love it!
👍
Thanks

When is your final

Hope your class is going well
