Updated 2024 Tutorial: czcams.com/video/oTNDkUo-EO8/video.htmlsi=X6aN3scP7HwiyL-N
(Whatever problem you're experiencing is likely covered in the updated tutorial 👆🏼)
for those who came here after the language update..instead of unaryPlus() i used the toNumber() function:
example: round(100 * (toNumber[Make my Bed]) + toNumber([Have Breakfast]))/2)/100
the square brackets r just markers i used to represent what would be ur variables. replace the number '2' with the total amount of tasks u have. hope this helps :)
THANK YOU SM, i have been STRUGGLING, ur a life saver ❤❤
rate that bro
This is a perfect addition for my dashboard well done and easy to follow
Appreciate it!
I would like to see new Ideias of everything, just creat content my friend that we are going to watch
Congrats mate. Very well explained. Thanks for the template.
Appreciate it brother 🤝🏼
Wow I was after this! People want to sell templates, they don't want to teach anything. Thank you for that, I will follow you and learn more!
Glad it was useful!
THIS GUY IS JUST GOOD AT GIVING VALUE! THANK YOU🙏
Appreciate it brother :)
Thank you soooooooo much! This is very good explanation.
You're welcome :)
Really nice, many thanks...please continue with other topics
Let me know what you want to see
Thanks for making this video 👍
My pleasure :)
thanks mate. this was helpful. I created some automations to auto check boxes when I edit other things.
Smart!
Thank you for the Template it helps a lot. you are the best :)
Appreciate it! Happy to help :)
For those looking for the updated formula, I did it as follows in my Notion (replace my habits with yours):
round((toNumber(prop("Acordar as 7h"))+toNumber(prop("Beber Água (4L)"))+toNumber(prop("Leitura"))+toNumber(prop("Banho Gelado")))/4*1000)/1000
saved me bro thanks

you carried me bro thx
This was such a fast tutorial it ave me anxiety. I never ended up completing it. I will try again this week.
Got an updated version of this coming out this week (which is slower)
@@chrisnotion woah looking forward)
Thank you very much for your incredible video!
I have one little problem with the template button. When creating one, it pop's up at the right time and is visible in today's and the calendar's sections. However, it's not in the weekly area (because there is no date on the template I presume). The problem is when going back to one of the other section, the @today page disappear. Do you know why and maybe have an Idea to fix it?
You are underrated
I hope your growth!
Thanks :)
Love you soooo muchhh brother ❤️
Thanks for the support ❤️
Do you have a tutorial for how you did the bullet journal page?
Hi, sorry for the delay, I’m following your tutorial and I have a small problem. In the part where you have to add a button above the table/calendar, in my template, it doesn`t allow me to add a row to put /botton, instead it creates a page inside the table. Maybe it is because when creating the page I selected database instead of leaving a gap and then adding /database. Is there any way to solve it? And there isn`t, is there any way to copy everything I have done and paste it in a new page?
Thank you and sorry for my ignorance
Thanks!
You're welcome!
Amazing/ great video. Thanks very much.
I am trying to purchase chart bvase due to needing a chart for this page, but am getting an error. Is/ has any one else received this and over ciome this issue? Thanks

GREAT video
Appreciate it brother
Hello mate! Your video is really helpful and also can you please let me know where did you find that Japanese themed background? If its fine?
I loved the video!!!
I'm a huge fan and you for sure helped me a lot with understanding about notion
I have a question... I didn't quite understand why do you have to change the group of the table and calendar views to the "created time" property when you dedide to use the recurring template button, con you please explain it?
tks again for the amazing content 🖤
Appreciate it bro! The reason for using the created time property is because if you use the recurring template to create a new day then it won't have anything inside the date property, but the created time will automatically be that day. So if you change the calendar grouping to created time then everything will automatically show up as the dates are already added instead of manually doing it with the normal date property. Hope that makes sense :)
Thanks a lot for a great dashboard - love it! I initially created the tracker with 5 habits but have now added a new one - everything works well, however the 6th habit is not shown in the card under the "Today" view (only when I open the full card). Is there a way of displaying the new habit as well in the card?
Yes you just have to go into the database menu and under properties you can select which properties you want display
@@chrisnotion Thanks a lot Chris!
@@chrisnotion I had this issue as well, thanks for clearing it up! Great video!
Hey!! Great video. Question: how did you put the habit tracker and the chart inside blocks??
Just create a call out box set to the default color and drag and drop them inside. And for the buttons just /columns to create empty block columns so you can drop the buttons in next to each other.
Loved this tutorial thanks a ton Chris!
Just one silly little question - my 'today' button has never actually displayed the current day/date, I had the impression it would be dynamic an change the previous day to say 'yesterday' and so on, however it just stays stuck on the date I created the button, would you have any idea what I might be doing wrong? I've followed the video a couple of times however it still isnt working :')
Make sure you're using the corrent date property. There's a normal date property and a created time property 🙌🏼
Hii Chris
thanks a lot for making this template for us really appreciate it
I just have one question How did you mention "today" on 4:41
And thanks again
Thanks! Just use the "@" symbol and type @today and select the dynamic date option
Great video and great template! I have a question, Is there a way to have a different starting date for different habits? When I add a new habit to a set of old ones, the starting date of the new one is the same as the old habits.
Unfortunately not in the way the calendar and properties work. Would recommend using ChatGPT as it's great coming up with ideas for Notion and creating formulas. Just start the prompt with "act as a Notion expert". Whenever I get stuck or can't seem to find a way to do something in Notion I just use ChatGPT 😅🙌🏼
@@chrisnotion Okey, thanks!
Can all these things be done on mobile?
I cant event narrow columns:(
Hey Chris! Loved the template once again. But the line graph is not showing in my notion page, even though every data is fine in the notion2charts. Its been 2 days and its still a white blank widget. Can you tell me what I did wrong?
Make sure you're using the correct date property. If it's not that then this video should help: www.loom.com/share/548e923e338b42408db2d6aa8c7f5a48
Hi, could you share which program you use to edit your videos? They are very nice!
Thank you! I just use Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm having an issue with the progress bar equation and would love your help. I receive the following error: unaryPlus is not defined. [13,22] The function "unaryPlus()" was removed. You can use + instead.
If I use + instead, it says that Notion cannot do math with numbers and words. Do you have any advice?
Notion recently updated the formulas. Instead use the toNumber function with a + in between. So if you have 7 checkboxes you'd have 7 toNumber functions turning them into numbers (either 0 or 1 based on checked or unchecked). Then you'd get a number for example 4 (4 out of 7 are checked) and then all you wanna do is just edit the formula property itself and select either the progress bar or progress ring and make the total 7. So the progress bar will show 4/7 as a progress bar percentage. Hope this helps 🙌🏼
Can I do this on phone
Thanks for the tutorial. Does anyone know how to turn the date property into a single date instead of a time span? Because when I go to set the filter to "is today" it makes me select either "start date" or "end date" which messes uo everything that comes after.
I just created a date property and didn't change anything about it, so I don't know why it's different to Chris' in the video.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Yes next to the date range inside the date filter there should be a drop down arrow that you can click to access the dynamic date filter options such as today, tomorrow, this week, etc 🙌🏼
Hi Chris,
I have set this up, and I like the function.
I did want to ask; - I have a link for each day, that has work for me to review.
I was wondering if there was a way for me to insert a link into this system, so that it produced it to me with the template being generated each day.
... IF this was a possibility, then I could have 1000 links with the work on them generated,- and they can be ready to be fetched into the template for each day.
If this was not possible, it was just the way i was thinking. ... there may be another way to complete the same task. If you think of anything, then please let me know :). Thanks!
P.S
Would it be possible to generate for example; 1000 pages, and then each time I clicked the button to generate a page, ... it instead just pulled a page from a different site on notion (where the 1000 are stored)?
This would provide a soloution, as I could template these pages, and add all of the necissary links to the pages, so that they are prepared.
Thanks
Thanks for the video. I have habits in just few of the days of the week, the templare also work in that case or i have to individualise the habits trackers? (Sorry if my english is bad)
You have the same habits for each day, there isn't a way to do only specific habits for specific days with a system set up like this. Though the template is free so you can check it out and see for yourself. (just add a "0" as the price)
@chrisnotion do you know about any way to do something like this? I thought about making individual tables for each habit and using the option "relacion" to link all of the habits in only one calendar, but it did not work. Do you have any idea of what I can do?
Thanks in advance
Hey! Great tutorial with so much information but I have one issue, the prop function doesnt work for me and it always says “prop is not defined”, what do you think I can do about this?
Notion changed the way their formulas works, I'd recommend checking out my Formulas 2.0 guide here: czcams.com/video/NjtPKbPI1Ok/video.htmlsi=1THV8a3-7NVcWYtW
Chris! This video was so helpful. Quick questoin - I'm working on creating my own habit tracker and since I'm recovering from surgery I want to add a Physical Therapy habit as a property. The only thing is I wont have to do PT forever and I'm concerned if I delete this habit in the future that my data will be off... is there a way to make a habit only last for 8 weeks or so where it will track my 6 habits (lets say) but after 8 weeks I only have 5 habits... does this make sense? helllpppp haha
Yea I understand and you could just add the habit and delete it later on, while also updating the formula of course, but there's no way to keep the progress % as it will be removed 🙌🏼
okay yeah makes sense, what if i created a separate database called "intermittant habits" or something where there's a date range, and maybe a rollup to the other database? i agree the percentage would always be one or the other but maybe changing the graph to show each specific property would be the way to go... thoughts? and thanks btw for responding you have no idea how helpful this is!@@chrisnotion
great video. Just one question. Why can i see the the habit tracker when i click on create new chart. All i see is just white and thats it
You have to connect it to your own habit tracker database using Notion2Charts 🙌🏼
Hey! Quick question: When embedding the notion2chart link into Notion, the graph appears and operates smoothly, but it says 'Powered by ChartBase' at the bottom. How do I remove that?
You'll need to upgrade your subscription 🙌🏼
This template is great and I hope to use it soon but when I try to unhide the properties while working on the calendar at 3:29 they are not popping up. Do you know how to fix this?
If you go into your database menu to the properties tab on your calendar and unhide them they should show up on the calendar. Make sure you actually have database entries on your calendar for that to happen.
I bought finance tracker 2 but database its not showing when is the guide video coming sir? :D love your templates
Thank you! Setting up the graph is pretty much the same process as the one in this video. The video is coming out next week :)
@@chrisnotion ok ok sure no problem! I dont know if its me but its not recording incomes and expenses in the totals. Could you check that??
@@Vidhal Hi I checked and everything is good in the template. All it is is a relation between the finance tracker to the summary database and they're automatically added through the template buttons. So check in your template buttons and make sure it relates to both "Total" and "2023". If your finance tracker database entries are related to the summary database then it should update
muito brabo ajudou muito muito obrigado mesmo
You're welcome :)
the button called "new day" is set to @today and everything looks good but when I press it, it shows yesterday or "last Sunday" etc or a wrong day. also the today view only shows one at a time. how can I solve these issues I really do like this template
Change the new day button name and type in @today and select the "date when duplicated" option. Or you could remove the new day button and set up a recurring template button in the template button menu. (drop down next to new > template button menu > repeat > daily) Then each day at a specific time it'll create a new database entry and this should also solve your problem. As for the today view it's just a filter so you can just remove it if you want
I cant have the buttons side by side when its in a callout taking up half the page. Any way to import these buttons from the button habit tracker
You can if you just use the "/columns" command or if you drag the buttons next to each other outside of the callout box and then just highlight all of them, copy, and paste inside the callout box 🙌🏼
Hey, the buttons that automatically check the box at the top, checks that specific habit for ALL the days i have in my dashboard? Why does it do that, i want it just to check ‘Today’ and not ALL the days, otherwise there is no use for them? Any help would be greatly appreciated, your such a king for this vid btw!!!
The button is filtered to all the habits that has today's date. So make sure the buttons are filtered correctly to either the date or created time property 🙌🏼
hi! notion has changed their formula language and I'm having some problems with the progress bar, specifically with "unaryPlaus" as it no longer exists. could you help me?
Will create a video about the updated formulas in the coming weeks 🙌🏼
my habits don't appear on the calendar, and i follow the exact steps. When you make the calendar show per week your habits appear on the calendar and mine don't. My graph is not updating daily, it just shows a dot on the Y axis
Make sure you're using the correct date property. Either the created time property (for the calendar and chart) if you're using recurring template buttons, other the normal date property for both. You can change it in the calender inside the layout tab. This should fix the problem
hey i had tried to redownload mine life os and it said this Unsaved transactions: Template page must match recurrence automation parent.
Pretty sure I helped you through email but if that was someone else, then just email me at contact@chrisnotion.com 🙌🏼
How can I update my second brain system with those methods...can you make more videos like these.?
I'd recommend watching my Notion buttons video to learn how to use these buttons so you can add your own custom buttons (czcams.com/video/qZObB-5SAZ8/video.html). Got a lot of good content planned ;)
Hi Chris. ... IF I am just creating this database for one task, is it correct to put: round(100 * (unaryPlus(prop("Habit. / Canva")) / 1)
As this would not allow me to click done? For the progress bar.
Thanks
I have completed it off like this, and it has allowed me to add this on.
I am however only geting 0.33% off the progress bar having been completed when I select the check box, instead of 100%.
I am trying to create this data base to intergrate it with the IOS dashboard however encountered this error.
round(100*(unaryPlus(prop("Habit. / Canva")))/3)/100
I have actually sort this now Thank you. With is being that I was dividing by 3, and not 1.
I did however, have something with the progress ring,
my Code is simply;
toNumber(prop("Habit. / Canva"))
And when I select the tick box. Then this shows as a very very small percentage. Is there a way that I can solve this pls, so that it is correct and suffices the whole ring once ticked off?
Thanks
I have just solved this thanks.
By adding * 100 to the end of the code. However, It now says 100, instead of 1, next to the ring. But either way getting closer to adding this task lol. Thanks
how can i fit this into my life os as a miniamlist look
1. Add this habit tracker into one of the life OS areas
2. Go to the main calendar at the bottom of the dashboard
3. Create a new view and click on the source tab at the top of the database menu
4. Change the source from the task database to this habit tracker database
5. Turn it into a calendar and match all the settings and groupings to your habit tracker
(your habit tracker will then be an extra view on your calendar at the bottom)
6. Then create a seperate callout box with the color set to default that contains your button & line chart
Hope this helps.
I want to have a small icon where i can see the progress ring is this possible
Yes you can edit the progress bar (number property) and then select the ring option
@@chrisnotion no i meant a small separat icon beacause on my dashboard i only have the Button and not the database
the formulas wont work in my notion for some reason it keeps giving me error not making me able to click the done button even when i do everything exactly the same. how can i fix this?
You're doing something wrong then. Make sure your brackets are correct and you're using the correct functions and formulas. This template is free so you can just download it and get access to the formulas inside.
It won't let me add any text to insert the "new button" under the Dojo page heading (at approx. 05:37)?
You might be trying to do it on a database page instead of a blank page. If you can't add any blocks to your page then it means you're inside the database and not in an editable page. Just create a new page and type in /button and you should be able to add a button 🙌🏼
Does anyone know why my chart Y axis shows 400% instead of 100%?
It's probably something with your Notion formula. If your formula only goes to 100% then the chart should reflect that.
What if I want to change a habit but don't want to delete it so as not to destroy the appearance of progress? How to do it? Is it possible to deactivate it, but so that the progress over the past period, when I introduced it into my life, is not deleted?
No that's not possible with this habit tracker, it's only possible with this new one I created that you can checkout here: czcams.com/video/13dHTSI89VU/video.htmlsi=cX8w59Yyha729FRr
i for the life of me cannot find unaryplus... did they replace it with a new formula?
Yes Notion released a new formula language and unaryplus has been removed. A video about it coming soon :)
@@chrisnotion thank you! :D
sorry for the late response :)
looking foreword to the video
Is it possible to write a code that add new habits automatically to the progress bar and the ring bar and also change the number of the division? 🧠
No don't think that's possible, would be cool tho 🙌🏼
Thanks for your answer🙏@@chrisnotion
😢😢
Help me please
I’m facing an issue in minute 3:07
When I apply the filter the database in gallery view disappears
How can I fix it
That just means that your database entries didn't have today's date included so the filters will make it not show up in the database
@@chrisnotion so , how to fix it ,thanks too much
I can't do the progress bar. I do what you say, and I also do it with the toNumber and it doesn't work. I get 101%
The same issue happened with me and so I entered
round((toNumber(habit 1)) + toNumber(habit 2))/2*1
Replace the habits with your own variables and replace the 2 with the amount of habits you've added
Gotta divide by how many habits you have, you probably have a lower number in there
Unaryplus isn’t an option anymore in notion 😢
Yea you need to use the toNumber function. My next video goes over the new Notion formulas update and shows the updated habit tracker formula 🙌
Was not able to duplicate after purchasing
Make sure you're logged into Notion on your browser to the account you want to duplicate it to and maybe disable any ad blockers 🙌🏼
Hey on the new life os update you forgot to add CZcams to the crm
To the CRM? or do you mean to the dashboard?
@@chrisnotion the crm remember you had to the point you can see your roadmap and stuff
@chrisnotion you right i mean under business
bro i have a problem the unaryplus doesn't show up
Hi yes Notion changed the formulas. Use the toNumber function for each property, add them together with a + and then edit the formula property itself and turn it into a progress bar or ring and add the total number of habits as the number it should be divided by
thank you so much@@chrisnotion
My expressions are not working, can someone help me PLEASE
I can't use the function unaryPlus, do you know why ?
I had this issue too. Looks like notion updated their functions and removed unary. So I saw a habit tracker video by The Imbalance Trader and his one worked!
@@numaniqbal2924 ok great thank you bro !
@@numaniqbal2924 Thenk you!!
I keep getting the error 'tonumber is not defined'. My formula is: tonumber(habit 1)+tonumber(habit 2). Does anyone know the issue here?
You need to select the toNumber function or type it in exactly the same "toNumber()". Would recommend checking out my Notion Formulas 2.0 guide and skipping to the first formula which is the updated version of this habit tracker, it should answer all your questions: czcams.com/video/NjtPKbPI1Ok/video.htmlsi=BVWEO2zXubiqJi-6
Thank you! I didn’t realize it’s case sensitive 😅
theres no date on my x axis
Make sure you're using the correct date property. There's both a normal date property and a created time property. And also make sure you actually have database entries to show on the graph. Checkout this video if you still have problems: www.loom.com/share/548e923e338b42408db2d6aa8c7f5a48?sid=ac0c83c3-173e-47cc-83b1-9dc128ec6179
I dunno man, i've repeated the process 5 times but the result was nowhere the same as in the video. Perhaps i am just too dumb to use this software lol. My problems are:
1. The date in the table didn't show up automatically, or do i need to set it up manually?
2. The Calendar. My checkbox ( the whole three checkboxes table ) were fit in one date only, it didn't assigned to the next date and so on. Like, wtf?
3. At this point i gave up, bye..
4. i couldn't copy the graph embed link to notion. In the video, you just needed to click below the calendar, and a new section will appear. But mine didn't show anything tho the point that i broke my mouse due to FRUSTRATION!!
FOR GOD SAKE
I'm not sure I understand the benefit of creating a button to check off a habit when we can just as easily check the box.
It's more useful if you have a big dashboard and you calendar is way at the bottom and in the 2nd or 3rd view, then you can have your habit tracker buttons with the line graph at the top to quickly check off the habits instead of scrolling all the way down and clicking on the habit tracker view. But for this standalone template I agree you can just as well check off the habits checkboxes
@@chrisnotion Ah! Makes sense. Thank you.
he is moving way to fast lol
Yea I try to cover everything without making the video unnecessarily to long and cut out anything that doesn't need to be in the video. Don't want to waste people's time. Though if it's too fast you can always play it in 0.75x speed :)
hey i am having some issue to make this template for my personal use can you tell me do you use discord message me
You need to have a linked view database and then create a new calendar view and change the source to the habit tracker inside the source tab in the database menu. This won't work on origianl databases, only on linked view database
