I agree. The 69 Vette is the prettiest Vette body style of all time and this one is a beauty. Personally, I think it's way nicer than that new thing. And I'm glad this one doesn't have the hideous rack on the back. And man, these guys do some nice work.
As a 1971 Corvette owner I can't wait for this "series" to see the work you have done on the car. In a way I love what the owner wanted to do with the car and keep it as a driver and not a garage queen.
@@samuellujan7525 So far we upgraded to 18 by 10 inch krieger knockoffs wheels with Willwood 4 piston calipers front and back, new master cylinder, new steering assembly bushings, and upgraded the transmission to a 3 speed with overdrive. This year the plan is to either engine swap to a big block or do a 383 stroker build on the current 350 4 bolt main, upgrade the suspension, change out all the old clapped-out frame, engine, and suspension bushings for nylon bushings, and put in a seat that I can fit in the car with a helmet on, just slam the seat all the way down and all the way back.
These are 17s on this car, and we wanted to take advantage of the better tire technology and performance over anything available in a 15 inch tire. This car is meant to be driven hard in the turns, so we need all the traction / control options available.
I’m going to follow this series closely as I’m doing about the same thing with a 1970. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle the side mounted exhaust.
It is also possible swapping a modern Corvette engine or a turbocharged Duramax diesel engine in a 1990 Chevy Caprice. Now there is nothing wrong swapping those engines in a 1990 Chevy Caprice. You also need to change the Caprices transmission and speedometer since this must do something different if the Caprice reaches almost 200 mph.
Purely hypothetical, is the Corvette suspension and handling characteristics a good choice for a LS engine installation? For me the emotional attachment and the pure beauty of a C3 Is a no brainer but is a Miata or anther super handling car better suited for road ability? In my case, I have a '73 Big Block numbers matching and such dark thoughts are blasphemous. And to your point, what modifications are allowed before the theoretical value diminishes?

With a modern LS , 6 speed and the suspension mods already in place this will really make this Vette a nice driver.
Swap the outside color with the interior color (black exterior with red interior) and you have my dream car from when I was a kid.

It would be nice if it wasn't necessary to put 20 inch rims on everything. The original C Ralleys look so much better than the low profile version.

We put 17" wheels to support modern performance tires for better handling.
