I bought a 1959 Fiat 600 from a fellow grad student in 1967 for $60! Very quirky car, lots of DIY fixes. One of my professors had one just like it, even the same color. He stripped an axle in his and gave it to me. When my wife and I left Virginia in 1971 for my first job, I sold them both for $35! As much trouble as it was, I was very fond of that little car.

In my country ex Yugoslavia we producing this model 20 years. Zastava 750le & 850 special(40hp). In 80s my family owned 750 and 850. In Serbia you still can found any part and body. And in all ex Yugoslavia country's nickname fore this model is FIĆO!
My wife and I traded in our beloved Lambretta TV 175 cc Scooter for a Fiat 600 as our first car (1963 ). 🚙. Loved it. Bought a 500 later and loved that too although not quite as much.

In my opinion, a Fiat 600 is a real car in contrast to the Fiat 500.
You are correct, 4-cyl and water-cooled. A lot prettier than the 500 too, in my opinion.
