    I loved Eric and Grant on their Reeds and Deeds album. Fun to see them on stage together again

    wow, the rhythm section was sensational! Eric Alexander was playing in the style of Trane & Cannonbal album

    The piano player plays WAY too much
    He shoulda done some monk and just strolled some chorus’s
    Of course he comps great for his own solo
    Funny how that works ! Ha
    He certainly is proficient… just the music sticks pretty close to the shore all the time

      I'll respectfully disagree. Personally, I like his comping style BUT I believe the reason I can also understand where you're coming from is because he's WAY too hot in the mix during the tenor solos. Of course your mileage may vary. ;-)

      Fancy meeting you here..VERY fancy! What I appreciate most is that all these “young” players are upholding the long standing jazz tenor tradition of not smiling on stage (that just lets the enemy know what yer thinkin).

    Piano player should drop down an octave and quit hitting all the 1s in his comp. He a good player but he in the way sometimes.
