Really liking the main line swivel tip! The way I set up my line is different and fast I pull 10 feet of line then I measure the 6 foot mark make a loop and thread the whole loop through the eye of a snap swivel ,then pull the swivel through the loop. Boom your done, now you have 2 lines holding your swivel. and just repeat going for the rest. The reason I use snap swivels is because I use the pre-made snelled stell leader hooks and you can get them in different lengths so you can fish top to bottom.
Great video. I'm new to trotlining and this rig ir pretty straightforward. I like the rod and reel, but I'm always down to try something different. I'll come back in a week and let you know my results as soon as these storms move out of the GA mountains.
That mainline swivel is smart especially in heavy current rivers.
a tiip for preparing your drops. I get a 2 X 4 or a piece of wood and put two screws or nails in it. I then wrap the drop line around it as many times as I can and then cut with scissors or a sharp knife. Every drop is the same things and it can be done very quickly.

I think you should use a Palomar knot for some of those. Easy to tie and much better. You don't need to burn off the ends.

Good video not to tell a guy his buissness but i build my own trot lines here in Mo. And to keep from the twist you talk bout in the main line i put my swivels on it and at my distance i eabt them tie a knot in the mainline then another bout a inch down then your swivel can spin freely all the way around the mainline then dont need swivel tied in mainline i fish live bait for flat heads keeps it from tangling around mainline my grandpa taught me to build mine to

Those overhand knots are reducing your line strength by 50% or more. Learn to tie an alpine butterfly. Very easy, far superior for loops.
Looks like they don't do much catfishing up nawth, all the vids. I've watch have a true "southern" accent. Like Hank Williams Jr. said, "A country boy can survive".
