Very excited for this one. Despite having no previous flight sim experience, after watching Top Gun Maverick, I really want to get MSFS and I have a feeling this video will make me want it more. It was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I watched the original dozens of times and I liked this one even better

for the carrier landing it wants you to max the throttles on landing and then set them to idle once the wire stops you otherwise it limits the score

Jeff just a heads up, another reason your score was so low on the carrier landings was you NEED to go full MIL power with the throttle when the nose is over the deck of the carrier in case you don't catch a wire or in case you do catch a wire and the wire snaps. As well, if you watch real world POV videos of F18s landing on the carrier from the cockpit, you will see the pilot is throttle jocky'ing like crazy... there's a specific technique you must use to get a perfect score on the carrier but once you learn that technique and master it you will get an A everytime. Keep at it sir:)
I liked the movie, I think they did a great job with it. However, after being in military aviation it was hard to get passed some of the extra cheese they put in the movie…or just things that are not possibly or even close to realistic.

These were so so fun! This is the best DLC of any game I've played in a while. I purchased a yoke mainly for the top gun challenges and built a new rig just for MSFS2020...and Farm Sim 2020!! Love your videos Jeff!

The California challenge looks like you started at Lake Oroville/Chico in Butte County where some of the movie was filmed and flew north up to Mount Lassen volcanic park or possibly Mount Shasta up around Burney Falls. I live pretty close to there.
I loved the movie. i saw it with my mom a few days ago for my birthday. I honestly wish I had seen it with some friends or something because the amount of emotion combined with excitement would've been more enjoyable with friends. Will definitely see it again. I didn't know you used to be a dj, that's really cool. I'm a dj myself.
The movie was great! I saw it twice. Jeff if you have a Dolby theater near you I definitely recommend you to go see it in there. Doesn't get any better. Keep up the great work.

Saw the advanced viewing, and I loved it. Their were parts where as a pilot, and military aircraft enthusiast, I just didn't much care for, but all and all a really well done movie for what it is.
The thumbnail is badass.
A shame they didn't add an achievement called "no glove needed" when landing on the aircraft carrier as a reference to the Top Gun NES that used the power glove to fly.
Saw the movie last Saturday. I enjoyed it but thought I was watching Star Wars all over again. Fly through a trench avoiding the guns above and get a shot off into a tube to blow up the target.

11:05 call of the wild fishing game. I am super hyped to see how a freeroam game like that will play out. I enjoyed the boat fishing games but to hike through woods and come to a pond you knew about that had big catfish or something. Just mann can't wait, love the videos.
The flying at the end of the movie was crazy

I finally got my hands on MSFS on my xbox. I was sad to see the airliner operations still need work but at least I had fun in the Icon A5, that plane handled beautifully

Hey Jeff absolutely love this video. I went and saw the movie. Best movie ever made. The local theater was nice enough to give me their 8ft tall cardboard advertising poster so I have that on display in my pilots lounge

the movie was absolutely awesome. Although I do not live in the US; the original Top Gun made me aspire to be a fighter pilot and Top Gun: Maverick made that flame burn even brighter
I seen Maverick in theaters and it was a mind blowing because I watch the first top gun when I was a kid that was like 20 years ago and now I seen Maverick. I think Maverick is way better than the first one.

Nobody seems to have noticed it but msfs added a little Easter egg in the air craft carrier landing, it’s hard to spot but there’s a white Tiktak UFO that flies in the distance in remarks to the 2004 San Diego sighting of this unusual object, pretty cool little Easter egg if you ask me as it was the same location San Diego

You came on to the carrier too low, what you should do is fly the plane onto the deck directly with the ball right on center, and do not flare on landing, the F18 gear is more than strong enough to handle the rough landings.

Better than the ace combat top gun dlc lol. You get f-18 f-14 which are already in the game and you get the Darkstar which is only good for shooting Missles from a distance

Awesome video man! I think on the carrier landing it wants you to advance to takeoff thrust after catching the wire - I think that's the only reason you got a C because that last one you did absolutely should have been an A

You have to set up a afterburner toggle button
To me it was better than the original
