    I wish I had seen this video before I paid a roofer to replace my flat roof felt with EPDM, he made a right pigs ear of the job and I think if I had seen this video I would have had a go myself and done a far better job than he did, but I didn't have the confidence.

    I have this same kit from Rubber4Roofs. Got it last October but there hasn't been a decent break in the weather, rain or temperature wise, for me to do it. However, the weather is good next Friday and Saturday so will do it then.
    The drip/gutter trim doesn't fill me with confidence though. The water might not make it over the lip of the trim and could just run behind the front-facing trim (i.e. between it and the rubber). Time will tell.
    Appreciate the upload - thanks!

    good vid, i was thinking about doing some roofing. My roofer wants to use asphalt but i’m not so sure. epdm looks like less hassle.

    • @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE
      @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE  Před 2 lety

      Personally, I think epdm is a great product. The fact its one peice leaves no room for installation error. Anything that requires sealing, or binding together on site always leaves potential for leaks. As long as it's not punctured it really is good stuff. Best of luck with it whichever material you use 👍

  • @user-jh8no1zb9e
    @user-jh8no1zb9e Před 7 měsíci

    putting a screw in the end of your sealant might work for 1 day if you're lucky , even tape doesnt work - ive seen on youtube some other ways/products you can get for this

  • @ryansonic80
    @ryansonic80 Před rokem

    I'll be reffering back to this in a few months time when the sun's out, currently I have a miniscule leak which appears only with heavy rain but have my rubber roof kit ready to install.
    Couple of questions I'm asking myself though, should I treat the wood roof (good timber) before putting the rubber roof on. And should I leave it a little loose and not too tight, to avoid the rubber shrinking and splitting potentially? Great video

    • @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE
      @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE  Před rokem

      I wouldn't worry about treating wood covered by the rubber as it is fully water tight. I would stick the rubber straight to roof. It's quite flexible so will shrink and expand a bit but you don't want to be left with a wrinkly roof! Let me know how you get on. Best of luck with it 👍

  • @Bob-oo7sm

  • @jrinns9137
    @jrinns9137 Před 4 měsíci +1

    Isn't the trim on the from and back meant to sit on top of the edge of the rubber, which redirects water down to the gutter? That's how the edging for mine works (I hope!)

    • @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE
      @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE  Před 12 dny

      Yes you can use that but I used the gutter trim all the way around as mentioned in the video. Thanks for watching 👍

    I think there poly pins ?

    • @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE
      @POUSEaroundtheHOUSE  Před rokem

      To be honest, the roof on mine slopes inwards a touch so I won't get drips from the apex but that's why I mentioned each roof is different and you can adapt it for your shed. Yes you're right about poly pins, thanks for watching 👍
