SAMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, i got my newly fresh oled about 22days ago. about 2 week of using it, i notice wobble! especially the left side joycon!
I had the exact same issue. I also noticed that when was using the home button it made a creaking noise. I returned the switch only to be sent a replacement and after that I wasn’t sure whether it’s an issue in general so I also returned the the replacement too.
The tape mod works very well and i only use my oled in handheld so i never have to take the joycons off i have an original switch i keep hooked to the tv. But it seems like their quality control was worse on the oled compared to the original switch. I felt the difference after playing my oled for 5 min because my original switch has almost no wobble. But man is that screen nice and the speaker are a little better. I haven’t played my switch much after getting my steam deck though.
@@ChadKenova The issue I have with first and 2nd gen switch is the same issue I have with steam deck I am not a big fan of the screen when it is released with a with a better screen I will invest in it.
It works great for mine but i never take them off I’m using the oled as handheld only and leaving my original switch hooked to the tv. Also picked up some binbok grips man their much more comfortable for my hands. Just sad seems like the build quality isn’t as good for the oled as the original switch, my original switch didn’t have any wobble.
Returned mine to best buy after a month of this and i seriously had it the minute i met a kid in gamestop and he let me hold his switch and it was sturdy plus he said he had it for a few months and mine was like this from the begining. Once i exchanged it my new switch doesnt have no wobble at all
@@victorw.330 thanks for asking as a matter of fact the wobble on one side started like a week after! Not as bad as the other one! So i literally exchanged it yesterday and the new one is really really sturdy but i wont risk it and purchased a grip. My conclusion? The switch Oled rail sucks! Its different from the original and it causes this problem! I understood that it will probably happen again but hopefully the Grip helps ill keep you updated but bottom line is! The New Nintendo Switch Oled (specially the white one) have bad quality control it is a gamble wether you get a wobbly joycon or not and even if you dont it can always happen after some hours of handheld playing!
I have same problem with my new Oled. I contacted with Nintendo support and they said little wobble is something normal so I just used 2 little stirpes of electrical tape on rails and its perfect now. Can u make video where you show how big is ur wobbe?
I did the same thing used 2 pieces of tape for the left side that wobble’s more and 1 piece for the right and now its perfect. I’m gonna use my oled model for handheld only and leave my original switch hooked to the tv. I would show you the wobble but I don’t want to take the tape off its enough that you can fill it move some while gaming. I should’ve shown the wobble on it and compared it to my original switch when I made the video. It was something I noticed soon as I started playing a game on the oled my original switch had almost zero wobble. But if I do take the tape off I will make a video showing the difference. Still debating on picking up a grip for the switch or maybe some aftermarket joy cons.
Im going through the same with my New Oled they both wobbled from day 1 im kinda ocd about it too. But i dont know about the tape idea. Nintendo should address this
The tape worked great and it doesn’t hurt it at all. It took two layers on my bad side and one on the good side and now 0 wobble. I also just put a set of binbok joycons on my oled man its much more comfortable plus i got a case made for the hori grips and it works perfectly. I know how you fill though I’m very particular when it comes to my stuff I could fill the wobble soon as I turned on my oled. Just try the the tape fix use electrical tape I promise it’s much better.
I am fuming at nintendo for this. This happened to my switch oled out of the box and I couldn't return it. I might try the electrical tape thing because I'm never going to use joy cons for docked mode so I might as well just leave the white ones permanently connected to the switch just for handheld mode.
Yea kinda sucks when their premium product has a sub par build quality. My original switch has no wobble at all and im ocd about stuff like this i know how you fill. But the tape mod works great give it a try.
@@jameslewis3133 i had to use 2 layers on the worst side one on the other plus my oled is used for handheld only i have my original switch hooked to the tv. I picked up some binbok joycons for it also the controllability and comfort is so much better than stock joycons. The way it looks if you return it there’s a good chance you might get another one with wobble it seems like the oled model has much worse wobble than the original. Best of luck i would just use some tape i know there’s some tutorials on CZcams showing exactly how to do it.
I bought the splatoon 3 edition like a week ago and know it has the same problem, i wanted to change it but for what i see is actually """""normal"""""😑
Seems to be so much worse on these newer switches especially oled models my original launch switch has pretty much zero wobble. Yea not much use in getting another one it will probably have it but the electrical tape fix does work. I had to use two layers on the bad side one on the other.
Its just makes it fill cheap and it just doesn’t fill good playing a game if the joycons move. I used two layers of electrical tape on the bad side and it’s perfect now. I think I noticed it more because my original switch I’ve had since day 1 has no wobble and my new oled has it bad and was very noticeable soon as I started playing a game. Some people it won’t bother others it will. I’m a bit ocd about stuff like this and I always check for dead pixels on anything I buy that has a screen.
When i Got my oled switch i noticed that left joy con is very tight and my right feels like its broken... Its wobbly as hell... It feels like it can break out from rail when i Press any button. This is very unpleasant. I was upset when i unpacked my new console and noticed this bcs this feels like its not new. Especially when left side was Perfect.

i just picked up my first OLED switch and i love it but the right side joycon wiggles a bit. annoying af. i might have to try the electrical tape mod
