      Needs AC regas after? As far as Im aware 'service position' is just moving the front end forward 6 inches or so, not removing it all!

      what year is this car? Jetta?? How could it be easier when you’ve got the radiator & A/C condenser off?? You’ll need to recharge the A/C as well.

    Wish I seen this video first! Hard job without the right tools. I popped my triple square M8 out of the socket, cut the bit short with a die grinder, then attached it to an open end 5/16” wrench, wrapping it in electrical tape to hold it on. With the large wire harness out of the way to the common rail, I was able to get the bolt out! 😂 time for a beer

    worked for me, didnt have to go into the service position, but will probably be easier in the long run! only needed to remove that one bolt behind oil filter housing and pryed the hose over and thermostat popped out

      I’m doing mine right now and I took that bolt behind the filter and when I try to pop it out it goes almost all the way but just dosnet and I can’t even move that thermostat at all

    I'm selling my Jetta now. This is wayyyyyyy too much work to take out a thermostat.

    Doesn't this require an AC system recharge?

    20 minutes to pull the whole front out of that vehicle impossible. A F1 team could possibly achieve that time

    mnogo je sve lakse kad se skine alternator.
    dok je motor u automobilu tesko je skinuti termostat bez skidanja alternatora.

    Honestly not worth doing this method. That plastic tube running behind the oil filter house is brittle and it broke on me when I was trying to finagle it out.

      Check if your caddy has a thermostat for the dsg transmission

      @wonkeep85 Před rokem +3

      100% the thermostat for the DSG box. Sits on top of the box

    • @kadencleaves6554
      @kadencleaves6554 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@wonkeep85 mine also does the same thing, never gets hot enough if driving down the interstate, but as soon as I’m idling, right up to normal operating temp, is that the dsg thermostat then?
