      Hi Angela! I recommend the battery operated flameless candles only! And Target has the best little flameless candles, they really flicker like real candles. Hi Joan
    Question for you. I've watched your video making the Joy glitter plate. Can you explain why I'm getting some bubbles on the napkin on the back of the plate? I'm not using any glitter on this plate and I did coat the napkin with some Mod Podge. I'm using Folk Art one Step paint to paint the back of the plate. I couldn't find a color in the Chalk Paint that would match. I'm hoping the bubbles go away once I apply a second coat of paint. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jackie

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jackie! Here are some reasons: not giving each step enough time to dry, how and where the Mod Podge was applied, not applying enough Mod Podge and coating the entire surface first which means if you miss a spot a bubble may form, applying a top coat of a Mod Podge too soon. I am not familiar with Folk Art one step so maybe it has something to do with the paint. I hope that helps Joan

    I am new to decoupage ... would it be safe to use real tea lights in these? Thank you! They are truly beautiful!

      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi! For safety, do not put real tea lights. Put only the battery operated. Personally I never burn candles in my house, only flameless. Thank you for watching! 🙂 Joan

      I would say with these candle holders about an hour or less..when they don’t feel sticky. - Joan

    Is Mulberry paper the same as Rice paper?

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 2 lety

      Hi Mary! No they are different. Rice paper mostly comes printed where mulberry paper does not and has lots of fibers running thru it. 🙂 Joan

    Can we just use Kleenex paper in place of mulberry paper

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 2 lety

      Hi! You can try Kleenex but I think it would tear once wet, it’s not strong enough. You can always try! Thanks for watching! - Joan 🙂

    Beautiful, I checked michaels joannes and hobby lobby, no mulberry paper, do you have a suggestion other than Amazon. I do NOT shop on Amazon

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Terry! Do you have an art supply store near you? That’s a good place to check. I do buy from Amazon because I am not a fan of Michael’s or Hobby Lobby because I spend too much money when I shop, lol. The roll I bought from Amazon was about 17.00 and is like a lifetime supply. You can also try Etsy and eBay. EDIT- I checked eBay and they have lots of it there. However some of the same sellers as on Amazon. Hope that helps! - Joan 🙂
