how to crochet a top down blouse, easy tutorial all sizes
using an all-cotton 2weight yarn, I worked this up as a green-to-yellow ombre beach (not-so)cover-up. thank you. It made it seem easy to make a lacy blouse/dress, even for me.

As soon as I have finished my winter cardigans - as we are in winter now in South Africa - I will be doing a few crochet tops and short sleeve cardigans for summer. I am making this top now, I have very wide arms, so I made 1 more row in front and 1 more in back before joining back to front. Now it fits perfect. Hello...Can you give a stitch count after each round like first round was hdc how many at end of round? Second round was dc how many at end of round? And so on ...I just want to make sure I have same amount of stitches as you. Thank you! Very much you explain very well.

Thank you for this lovely pattern. That will be my future project. I am large at the top and extra large around my hips, and very wide arms. Should I make the yoke a little wider(more rounds), plus make more rows right after the yoke before joining back to front ? I will just try and see if it works. I can always undo it again. Thanks again for all your hard work.

You will want to continue increasing the yoke pattern until you get to the measurement of the fullest part of your chest. Then continue to join for the underarms as shown, hope this helps.
I really love your designs - only discovered your channel recently - and have made one other top already.. My cotton was slightly thinner than yours for this one, and everything worked out fine until I hit the last single crochet round before starting the separate back/front parts. Following your video tutorial, I ended up with only 208 stitches, so I was 16 stitches short. I checked and re-checked that I had the correct amount of stitches for the starting row, had not missed any rows, etc., and pulled it out a few times. I even watched the Italian version of this video (although I don't speak a word of Italian) in case I missed something.... In the end I just pulled that last row out and evenly increased 16 stitches all around. After that I decided that because my yarn was a bit thinner, I would need more stitches for the back/front, so I did another round of single crochet with increases which pushed it up to 65 for the back, 67 for the front and 52 stitches each for the armholes (I have thin arms haha). To me, it was easier than fiddling with the stitches on the back/front sections themselves - I scribbled a few stitch diagrams of the pattern and figured out it was a multiple of 8 + 11 for the front and 8 + 9 for the back. I am totally happy with it, looks great and fits me perfectly - but I'd really like to know what I might have done wrong... Thank you so much for making the English versions of your tutorials, much appreciated - and you speak excellent English.

interresting. at the 13th row i had way too MANY stitches. i increased back and front, just enough to make each a multiple of 7. we'll see how it comes out.
I really love your design and now I'm making it for my mom. I have finished the neck park and finished 3 rows of the backside. Would you mind explaining to me how to continue with row 4? Do I have to turn my work or cut the yarn at the end of row 3 and attach the new yarn at the beginning of row 3?

I used Lion Brand "Shawl in a Ball" and I used J hook. Now I did a new one again and chained 100 then it came out fine. I'm a medium size woman.
J hook should be 6 mm, sorry but in Italy we have different hook chart and I have to make conversion to understand :) I'm happy tht your sweater is good!

Nice tutorial ! I'm making it right now but I'm stuck in row 11 ... I have too much (or not enough) stitches to complete the shell stitch. Could you indicate how many stitches we should end up with at the end of each row (especially row 10) in order to get the 224 stitches needed !? Or at least how many shells in total in row 11 ... hi Rossana, stitch is a multiple of 3, so that you can increase the neck collar of 6-9 stitches if you need. Then you can decide to increase also stitches also at the moment you start working only on the back and front sides, when you are doing single crochets across the first row, doing 2 single crochet in the same stitches you can increase how wide you need

You are an expert crocheter, I like very much your patterned yoke, I have avoided them, as I couldn't work out the maths for the increases, could i please ask you a question , ....your yoke has no increases each round? but still sits flat...I can't work this out, does this mean that you don't need to increase in a lacy pattern yoke? Could I do any lacy pattern and the yoke will still sit flat? I would appreciate your answer as I can't work it out. ...Regards Jan from Australia

i forget to tell you i using cottons yard is not to thick how many chains i needed
stitch is multiple of 3, therefore, depending on your size and yarn's thickness you sould add 3 chains, or 6, or 9, or 12, etc.

hi Michelle, it's impossible...probably you're using a too thin yarn, which hook size are you uing in mm? I use a 5 mm crochet hook with a very thick cotton. I am sad that your work is not going well, give me a reply and I'll try to help you ;)

I tried really hard to make this blouse and was really enjoying it. However, I have these things called boobs, and even when I added many rows to the blouse, it was just too small.
