Very nice guide. Two things I want to add; there are people who use OBS, but there are also people who use Streamlabs. I think you should put a pinned comment to mention that you can setup the same way for SLOBS.
Second thing is, yes, you can use a Green screen in the Vtuber Studio and setup the Chroma key, but you can just setup a transparent background in Vtuber Studio by picking ColourPicker, choose black color, and turn on the option for transparency, if I remember it correctly.
Can I just say that your model has long arms and legs? Like you are tall and slender as Slenderman.... I think I came up with a new conspiracy.
Vtubing is so weird. You can record yourself as a vtuber, then go to ai to change your voice, and just like that, your basically a completely different person. This world is kinda crazy.

at this current time no... Sadly golightstream doesnt support transparency :( (at least that I have found I could be wrong)

For some reason it sounds like the game might be taking webcam priority... I would try to find some settings in windows to set webcam priority to vtube studio

How would you go about 2D VTubing on Mac? I think VTube Studio is available for M1 but Live2d isn't. Is VTube Studio all I need to use an already rigged model or do I need the Live2d software even if I'm not rigging my own model?

For the Vtube studio webcam, do I need to mess with that if I’m using iPhone tracking? And if so I only have 2 options OBS camera and Vtube studio camera. What confuses me is Vtube studio cameras resolution is “4 x 4” and only available in 120 frames?? Is that right ?
so if you are using the vtube studio app on your phone.. you dont need to select any webcam.. It will connect through the network and link itself as a webcam

Hii I kinda need advice, so vtube studio takes 30% of my cpu along with streamlabs and games + voice mod taking up 10%. I always have it on 100% because of that. Is there a way to lower it?
Heya! So for Streamlabs make sure you are using NVENC for you codec. (assuming you have an NVIDIA Graphics card) If you are using another brand try their version of the codec. That typically will lower the usage ALOT.
For VTube Studio. In the Settings you can set the GPU Priority and maybe set it to lower so it doesnt take as much resources. You can also lower tracking quality from the default level 5 to 3 or 2. Last thing that WILL def help alot is the Quality and Effects. Application fps put to 30 (dont worry about 60 it wont matter) and the resolution but it down to 1600x900 and see how that runs. You can keep lowering it to experiment. At the end the of the day you probably wont be using props so you can make it a box that goes around your avatar.

Not with vtube studio... if you look at my channel and look at mobile vtubing you'll see a few more options
See my only thing is- I wasn’t fully thinking about what I was doing and I used my phone to draw the model- and it can be exported as a psd but when I save it, it won’t save as like a file but as a image idk how to fix that

Yes it's the prop section and you just add the prop... alternatively you can find an image of a chair and add it as another layer in obs... but yes in the app you just need to add a prop
Hi I’m having an issue where I plug in my webcam & vtube is doing something where it takes my audio outputs away, the little sound icon at the lower right task bar shows as “no outputs installed” .
It’s only with the webcam plugged in with vtube. If it’s just the mic it’s fine. I just want to use the character as an overlay on OBS as I draw and use my webcam to record my hand drawing, not my face. Everything looks fine with my character on OBS and I can see my webcam as I would like but it takes my audio output away from my whole laptop, I want vtube to pick up my voice for the character to move it’s mouth but also OBS so the viewers hear my voice and see the little character talking as an overlay
But as i said, my whole audio outputs are blocked or something. Don’t know what I could do. The only options i see is if I didn’t plug in a webcam at all and I only do digital things such as gaming instead of drawing cause I don’t have a digital art setup or the last option is not using the Vtube character at all, sad cause I wanted to do something fun for viewers as I drew :/

Hey! Sounds like the webcam is taking the audio defaults. You may need to switch everything.. so what I would do is
Select Start > Settings > System > Sound .
See what the settings look like for desktop and recording.... Then plugin the webcam... If the defaults change after you plugin the webcam, right click on the ones that were the previous defaults and select "make default" That should fix your issue.

I downloaded a Vtuber model I have but I think I need to fix the file somehow, I put it in yet nothing is happening. Yes, it says the model is compatible with the program yet the model isnt showing up :)
Should be a folder with lots of files in it... you may have a 3d model instead of 2d
I have a Logitech C920, and whenever I go to the settings, I need to have my Eyes Open at 100% sensitivity otherwise they're half closed all the time, even if I strain to open them IRL
Similarly, my blink sensitivity has to be at exactly 75%, any lower and they will never blink no matter what, any higher and they are permanently fused shut
But even so, when I finally get the settings I like, when I close the settings tab my character's eyes suddenly become half closed again as if I never changed my settings in the first place, but when I open the settings back up, they are where I left them, but don't seem to be applied and I have to change them and change back for it to be like how I left it...
No one I know who does VTubing seems to know what's up with this and I only just got my model, I haven't been able to use it even once

sounds like the camera isnt properly detecting and/or possible your tracking information didnt install... What i'd do is re-import the model and see if that does anything.. if not try it in another software like prprlive... if it works there and not in vtube studio, then id reach out to them on twitter

I’m on windows 11 and not very tech savvy when it comes to files (I’m not the smartest) how exactly do I move my model into the folder, I have the compressed zip it’s just a matter of moving it
you want to unzip it and move the folder into that file.. once that is done.. close and re-open the program

In OBS you just hit the eye icon to hide the source. Once you do that it will hide the avatar

Heya for sure! They have an app for android but the reviews are a bit mixed... Tho I have had friends and viewers who say theyve used it with no issues
Vtube studio mobile requires you to buy the full version for you to use mobile/ip face tracking. It disconnects you after 5 minutes if you don't have it. Its disappointing considering i paid for the full PC version.
Is there a way to attach the the iphone to your computer and have it be your camera? I'm sure there is I just was trying to find a tutorial to show me how.
I might be wrong...but I was told it does work... if you have the full version on your pc... and you link the two apps together it unlocks the time limit on the app while in use with the main app

Move your mouse to the left side of the screen... You will see an avatar icon... Click on it then "import you own model"
what do i do if my webcam isn’t tracking my eyes or mouth? on the calibrate thing it shows my eyes and mouth moving but on the avatar it’s not :(
Heya so if the tracking is showing you moving but the avatar is not... that typically means something with your avatar was not uploaded correctly and might be missing a file. Id try prprlive and verify its not just an app thing but an avatar thing. Once you verify i'd reach out to who made your model and ask them for help. You can also check out SYAFIRE as she has tutorials on how to make a live2d avatar

Hey! So left hand side there is something that looks like a lock... click that then use your scroll wheel! Of it doesn't work clock the lock again and try the scroll wheel again
I think i messed up somewhere when exporting to VTube studio as the head is supposed to move such as up and down left and right. Looks like i have to actually do the physics settings, before you say contact the rigger i made and rigged it myself following guides on deformers and parameters and such but no guides mentioned anything about actually needing to do the physics settings sure the eye tracking and mouth tracking works but i spent so much time trying to figure out how to get the head to move in Live2D to the point it is really a annoying set back

@@VtuberSenpai I am assuming i am being sent to someone that made and rigged their own so yeah i will try to get into contact if it is not already on their channel. Well after i mess around in the actual VTube Studio settings a bit as somehow i got the mouth set up to move when i talk by accident so it is probably me having to configure the actual settings in studio. Apparently you can have your mouth move and change based on your vocal frequency and voice in conjunction with your camera to make it look and feel more smooth (It is Japanese phonetics based AEIOU, so it will use that and the face tracking to make the model look and feel more smooth when talking)
Also about the other problem the suddenly not wanting to track my webcam, yeah i have an update for that. My computer was overheating as it was 82 degrees outside and i am used to heat so it did not feel hot to me but there was not other technical problem caused by the heat. Which is why i assume my graphics card was just overheating as when the computer cooled down and i tried it again it worked the tracking part at least

you can use Wifi tho ethernet is the best... WIfi will add latency

So you can use their app which will need the pro version or another app like ifacialmocap.. but personally I'd buy their mobile version it is worth the investment

Great question! So I would download other similar software and see if the issue is the same... also sometimes logitech software that controls Webcam (assuming yours is logitech) will interfere.. try disabling the software

Usually that's due to the destination ip (your pc or Mac) and ports aren't setup correctly. I'd make sure you have verified the ip is correct and is not being blocked on either the phone and the pc (sometimes an anti-virus like windows defender will block)

Hey! very very very sorry for the late reply! Your comment was in my spam for some reason! So this usually happens due to the firewall.. Especially if you have multiple anti virus programs installed.. Id go through each one and make sure the port is allowed. (If you also have another antivirus, it seems windows defender stays active.. so def add the firewall exception to it!)

It could be the file type... If you file is .vrm then it wont work with a 2d program... You will need something like vseeface. Now if your file structure is like the video and isnt loading, then please reach out to the creator of the file and let them know. They might be able to assist you further
