- The player starts out in the back of a Growler ITV, next to a sleeping Matkovic. They are en route to link up with the rest of the Misfit units, who have started to move towards the villa of the Russian arms dealer Amir Kaffarov in northern Iran. However, as they move through the forest, they are ambushed by an unknown unit. After successfully fending off the first attackers, Blackburn and his squad learn that the Russians are also in the region - according to some of the Marines, their intent is to kill Kaffarov so as to cover up their assumed involvement with the PLR

This game's story wasn't anything to write home about but the set pieces and great dialog (as well as voice acting) made this game memorable.
I disagree on the part about the plot, its ending was fuzzy yes, but from the beginning to the killing of Kafarov its top notch.

I really think this mission encapsulates what made this campaign IMO so much better than BF4 (which is a direct sequel to this) and the war stories from BF1 to BF5. The point of battlefield is to show the individual soldier's struggle through the chain of command and to be the cog in the big war machine. Youre supposed to feel like you cant really make a difference, so when you do its that much more rewarding. Making you NOT the squad leader, aswell as letting you see your character from the perspectives of other soldiers also really helped to cement this idea. In BF4 , 1 , 5 Youre almost just a one man army in some of those. BF4 was closer to a COD campaign which i think focused more on spectacle rather than being that cog in a war machine. BF3 Really makes you feel like just another boots on the ground grunt. Which makes it 100% my favorite war story campaign.
this is my fav war game I've ever played, I remember playing this on my ps3 when I was 8 years old, this were the good times
This mission,kaffarov, comrades, semper fidelis, and the great destroyer are the best missions.
Wish BF would remake these games like COD does. This was one of the best games I think ever

@@Manoooolo I'm talking about the aspects and plot of the game dumbass not gameplay (like location , names , callouts, voice acting etc.) Even the multiplayer was light years ahead of cod at that time. And cod doesn't even have the balls to call a country by its name. Maybe yes gameplay is better but what use is that if they get every other aspect wrong?
@@fiftycaliber2972 Locations are fine Picadilly is located in London, Urzikstan is basically MW version of middle east conflicts like Syria/Irak and there are maps located in Russia, Ukraine and other countries, there's nothing wrong with that. Al-Qatala simbols are the same ones that Al-Qaeda used... Voice acting and callouts in MW are very accurate what are you talking about? I won't talk about multiplayer because there's no realism in there. That being said I know that mp matches in Battlefield games are way more immersive. Don't call me a dumbass because I am clarifying some aspects that you have mentioned.
I really hope 6 goes back to this kind of storytelling, rather than those dumbass War Story missions.
Or if they're gonna make us do warstory stuff...make it more like BF1s. Those felt better.

Simply because the targets that the Russian paratroopers need to occupy are located outside Kiev.(it's Kyiv but I prefer to call it Kiev).
