  • Adding Watercress to your pond will enhance your pond's water quality. It does this by eliminating particles and nutrients within the water, that otherwise would reduce clarity and quality. It's a natural filter
it will enhance the beauty of your pond by producing lots of small flowers with green leaves.

just bought a bag of water cress, my smal pond was going murky, over night the pond is now crystal clear, can't believe how much money I wasted on pond plants that died with in weeks and did nothing for my pond,

I have it in my pond as well.. you dont need to throw the whole bag of cress in, you can select the one that have little roots on the stem, they are very easy to notice. I just selected two stems from a bag and ate the rest. The watercress bush is huge now. Another advice is that it would benefit from being under water flow i.e it thrives close to a waterfall and doesnt do so well in a stagnant corner of the pond. Re whether you can eat it, I have it in soups so no risk of liver flukes, watch out for what goes in the pond though, some medicines used for treating fish are not suitable for humans.

i am growing my watercress from seed. it will be slower but hope roots are stronger. this is great, but our pond doesn't have a pebbly shallow end, so i may have to weigh mine down with pots and pebbles. Great video. Thank you!

Hi Martin do you put the cress in gravel or just free in the containers? I’ve put mine in an aquatic basket on the pond shelf , no gravel just in the water and it has taken very nicely in a short space of time -do you think it will be better for the pond water quality to be in gravel.

I Just start with gravel to hold it till it grabs in then just leave it to get on with it
