soo... people use the melody as the main point to take a music mood, i usually use lyrics, this make me sing a lot of deep symphonic metal songs smilling and people getting confused because is a sad song LOL this happens to synthwave songs too any kind actually
I always thought that the beginning line was “I got a depression”. Obviously, english is not my first language ahahahha
More bittersweet than sad in my opinion
The context of the song is more bittersweet and sad. That's why it's considered "sad". When you hear it, you think of the last episode of Final Stage, or you think of Shingo's crash, or Takumi defeating Ryosuke. Moments that changed us, and made the song more of a "depressing" tune, than what it was intended as.

One kid said to me that initial D is just a racing anime, luckily he is my nephew I tied him in the chair and made him watch an entire series and then he started talking to me what he watch with enthusiasm I'm surprised, LOL the reason why he said that is because he just want to watch the whole series in my personal movie room but he is a fan before he did that shit....... Well he got me there

The Devil Z is the Devil, so Takumi's AE86 machine is an angel. they are both opposite in fate and in characteristics. The Devil Z, it is designed for fast driving on highways over 300 kilometers per hour. and the Takumi's AE86, is designed for racing on mountain roads and they are both different... The devil crashed in many Accidents and Hachiroku blew up the engine twice that they had to go through such ways. only a true person can drive cars with such characteristics, the ability to use techniques, skills, and keep everything under control.

A large tree branch hit my car while I was driving and my car went into a pole. The vehicle was totaled but I was unhurt. It’s been in the family for 18 years and held great memories. As I waited for the authorities and my parents to arrive, I sat at the base of a nearby Oak and took out my phone. I played Rage my dream as I cried in the forest with nobody around to hear me. I feel this song and how it relates to sad scenes in the anime, for I have lived through one of them.

Just a few months ago I was listening to this song on repeat on the way home to hang out with a friend of mine. We both have a strong connection with each other with cars and would hang out with each other often. I came home later that evening only to discover that on way home there was a fatal crash and drove past it ,you couldn’t even recognize the car it was so bad. I get called by his mother in tears telling me that was him …..I now come back to this song as a reminder of him ,miss you bro 💔🏎

@@lggrover5285 Never heard of him buying gt86 let alone blow another engine, he moved to england and became a wrc driver. And on one of the test drives his driveshaft snaped and he end up in a ravine and due to his injuries retiring from competitive racing

Today a person said to me that AE86 is a piece of junk and it's shown as a rocket in initial D as I proclaimed that hachi Roku should have screen time in car movies representing JDM car culture, then I told him to re-watch the anime it's not about the car only it's also about the beast behind the wheel ( ryosuke Takahashi said that) this anime is a piece of art the relationship between a machine and a human this just gives me goosebumps and reminds me that machines are in my DNA , watched this anime 7 times still can't get enough of it ❤️

Just finished Initial D, and here I am, listening to Rage your Dream again
I just realized something.
Takumi never used his (Original)special ability in the final race. He never read his opponent’s movements. The ability I’m referring to is what called him to be dubbed a monster by the rally girls.
Double Edit: Another realization
Here's why blind attack works - the races are at night, and their cars are using tinted windows, combined with the tint of the rear view mirror to minimize glare. Thus, the rearview mirror is just about useless at night unless the car behind you has their lights on.

I feel this anime’s main purpose is to teach people to dream. Thats why takumi once directionless now dreams of becoming pro racer. So you also find your dream and give it your all.
