I was raised a Catholic but ever since I have been able to make my own decisions I have been declaring myself a "free agent" when it comes to religion. I believe on a higher entity, or God if that makes sense, but I disagree with any organized religion. They are man made, and carry an agenda which is to control the general public. I still respect religions but when it come to what I believe in I believe in myself, and have a personal relationship with the man upstairs.

I respect your statement man. We're all free to embrace religion or not embrace religion. If you're like me, confident about the fact that you're in peace with your spiritual side with what you believe, peeeeeerfect

I don't blame you I have experienced two different religions and have come to realising that at the end of the day there's nothing that takes the place of a direct connection with the Creator and my ancestors! Thank the Most High for freeing me!

This beautiful piece of music is what music is all about: creative, easy to the ear, entertaining, rhytmic, deep, purposeful, treating of a subject seriously, deep, controversial, surprising, beautiful ❤ My dear uncle introduced this track to my when I was 15. It never left my playlists since. I learnt to listen to it differently with time

If you think this song is about racism, you're totally wrong. Fela is talking about Nigerians oppressing other Nigerians. Also about modern Africans being conditioned into following the customs of Europeans and the Middle East when in reality those customs are not native to them. Fela preached Africans in the modern world asserting their own identity and not merely being puppets of Europe.

All Nigerians know of Fela Kuti.. Moreover all Africans born before the 80s most likely know who Fela is. he was a revolutionary and visionary during the early post-colonial years.
I would say the song is anti-institutional and political religion.. But it is deeply spiritual and pro-religiousity.
"I WANT YOU ALL TO TAKE YOUR MINDS OUT OF THIS PHYSICAL CONTRAPTION, and put your mind into any garden church and garden mosque... OK, we are all there now... SUFFA SUFFA 4 WORLD!!"

@sonofthedestroyer he is the last of the old school cold war policians, He is a threat to thier domination of land and resourses. Patrice was doing deals with communists and trying to cut out the french and usa from very profitable business. He did not achieve anything, just big words and a great concept of how we should lives. Kwame Nkruma was more realistic and clever in his dealings with the west and his own people. He is the only 1 who realy has made a real lasting impact on African life.

I will NEVER deny that there are truely decent good muslims in the world. But the sad news is.....they are only 5% out of 100%. Now compare that figure among members of other faiths & you will see the good ones are more than a mere 5%. I mean, I don't see loads of diverse folks from other non-muslim faiths & race rushing to live in say, Northern Nigerian, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, middle eastern muslims states. But they will live in a christian country though. I think we both know why.

What does it matter Grimeyera whether we worshipped one or several gods. The point is that it was our way not an alien one . The sad fact is that we bought into the lie that our way of worship and gods were evil and the foreign ones were good. The result was inevitable: Perpetual self hatred and confusion in the African mind.

"Christianity" is what Jesus did between the years 30-33. Of course, "Christianity" was more Jesus saying, "act like me"....ha.
