Community | PL Kicks boot swap shop launched with football tournament!

Young people across the borough will be able to access and receive a new pair of football boots through the new PL Kicks boot swap shop recycling scheme.
The boot swap shop will periodically appear at different Kicks sessions/events across the borough throughout the year to ensure a multitude of different participants can access the swap shop.
To commemorate the launch, a Kicks football tournament was held at Laithwaite Park in place of the regular PL Kicks session on Wednesday evenings.
As well as enjoying the football tournament, participants all also received a hamper with everyday essentials to support their families with the cost of living.
The event was organised by the PL Kicks Youth Voice group who utilised funding from the Wigan Council Youth Cabinet to make the tournament a reality.
The event was also supported through generous donations from The Brick, Rebooted, the Wigan Athletic Academy and other local charitable organisations.
