Goblin 700 RC helicopter

- Wayne brings another uber-expensive RC heli to the field, this time it's the SAB Goblin 700. Unfortunately, there seems to be some problem getting the Futaba flybarless controller to play well with this heli and Wayne says it's "not locked in" when flying.

Very nice machine-and nice flying! No resonance on startup - that was hours of balancing and tuning. Hopefully this beauty will never park below the gras! I would crash it sooner or later for sure. I can be hired as material - tester... BTW: Finally the weather gets better in germany - this was the first weekend of good flyingweather this year. So Xjet, put your kiwis and stuff together and catch the next plane to germany when the southern hemisphere gets bad weatherconditions!

In the video ( in HD) you can read the motor brand and model, it is a X-era 4530-500.
If you google it you will se that the Peak Power of this motor is 10KW and continuos power is 5KW.... a nice little monster ;)

10KV is around the RPM rating on the direct drive brushless motor on my electric bike. Nothing RC scale would use such a low KV except for some *huge* scale custom heli for police or military probably.
Most 12-cell 600+ size helicopters are already within the 4000W power range. Same as this Xera 4530-500 motor on the video that has continuous 5000W power with 10,000W peak power rating.

Look in the middle of the heli when he tilts it around the 1min 40 mark, there are 2X6S packs in there so it is probably running 12 cell set up at 44.4 volts. Which you would need to get 10kw out of the motor. The 2 cell pack is for the radio gear and servo's
there's two batterry pack one for controller and servo, the blue batt, and black battery for the motor, it is designed for smooth controlling.....

***** If ever there was a BNF version. lol My G500 ran me 1500 bucks for everything including tools to set it up, so I can only imagine the 700 would be quite high.
Fantastic machine would you buy another? I love the idea of the cyclic servo arrangement and dual belt drive set up. How does it compare to a trex 700e or perhaps a mikado 800?

Maybe someday... lol im still flying syma heli copters. I thought this would be easy to fly but looks like its a higher end heli. I think I want to buy it and hold on to it till I can fly it though Im looking at the 500 model
10KV I would believe, not 10 Kilowatt that is like 11 horsepower.

G'day... Depends on your textbook. 1 Hp = 736 to 742 Watts. Call it 740, to be conservative... So, it's 13.54 Hp worth of Electric Boomerang...
To see how mind buggaringly decadent that is, search "1975, 8 Hp Skycraft Scout"... I have flown a Lawnmower, with 1/3 Less Grunt than this Twirligig ; & the Lawnmower was louder, too.

sooo long just to setup and fly for 4 min. Not to mention the cash that goes into these big babies. hell, just the batts are expensive as balls

some people think it is so easy to fly the trex 450 like me when i was flying a trex 450 some kids come to me and said "can we fly that thing" and i said "no" then suddenly they took the controller from me and they fly it and crash it good thing i have a airsoft in my pocket and shoot them at the foot and leave me without saying sorry after i saw my trex crash i almost cry :(
