I forgot what old boxing trainer said it but it was something along the lines of "people that grow up in stressful environment develop those fast twitch muscle fibers due to the tension they carry in their body, which lends itself to athletics; these stud athletes are like brainiacs but with their bodies. They have exceptional muscle memory, like some people have photographic memory or perfect pitch.
Cus D'Amato knew it when he first laid eyes on 13 year old Mike - he saw a 'diamond in the rough' - natural ability coupled with killer-instinct. So Cus sculpted him into a World Champion. As I said, Cus knew in the first minute, the kid had what it takes- but the only dilemma was that he died before he could teach him how to STAY a champion, (which is even harder), and Mike got caught up with the wrong types of people...we know the rest..

Mike was taunting & dodging Mitch Greens punches, Mitch threatened to kill Mike if he touched him, Mike didn't knock him out, but sure wore him out, you could tell. Mitch drew first blood, them confronted Mike in NY, & Mike was nice enough to turn us rings around, before he pinched Mitch, causing him stitches, & his left eye closed. Then Mitch tried to sue Mike for assault, Mitch deserved what he got from Mike, you don't talk shit & win.

I guess you never saw Smokin Joe Frazier because his head movement was also on point. Head movement allows a shorter boxer to close the distance and drop bombs to the opponent. Joe used his lethal left hook and Tyson used the left hook and uppercut once they dodged punches and closed the gap.
