4 very large Russet Potatoes
3 tbsp unsalted butter
3 tbsp all purpose flour
2 garlic cloves minced
1 1/2 cups whole milk -room temperature
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream -room temperature
3 ounces cream cheese -room temperature
10 - 12 oz mozzarella cheese (divided, use 1/2 cup for sauce) 1:49
8 - 10 oz sharp cheddar cheese (divided, use 1/2 cup for sauce)
Salt
ground or cracked black pepper
cayenne red pepper
green onions (garnish)
PORK or turkey bacon (garnish)
Bake 350

I made mine vegan.
One of the best meals I’ve ever made.
I used oat milk, vegan cream, miyokos vegan cream cheese, and vegan shredded cheese.
Coconut bacon.

Thanks so much for the video. It looks absolute delicious!!!!!! I've made potato bake so many times. I just wanted to see what other people do. So, instead of flour, I use a packet of white onion soup powder, mixed with a third milk, and a ton of cream. I thinly slice and brown about two large white onions. I then layer my potatoes, sprinkled with Aromat and Ina Paarman Garlic and Herb seasoning, a layer of the thinly sliced cooked onions, a layer of cheese, and continue the layers. I then pour the cream and white onion source mixture over, so it covers everything, top with a layer of cheese and sprinkle paprika on top, place in oven, and bake till golden brown, and cheesy and crispy. It's decadent beyond 😂

A very nice, well made simple dish. Being vegetarian, when I make it I use a mix of mozzarella and parmigiano, and top with more parmigiano and breadcrumbs for a good crust.

I'd use white pepper rather than black myself - and put proper bacon inside the dish so is cooks with the potatoes. Lovely dish.
