This song is so evocative of my youth, a better time, before social media, camera phones, conspiracy theories, and p0rn rotted our world.
Please send me back so I can do it all again. Those years were so precious. I lived the heck out of them so I have no regrets - I just miss it. We just don’t have the same hope, freedom, and creativity in the air today. The 80s were electric with all of it. We’re lucky to have been there.

My wonderful, incredible, sweet husband was not a fan of the New Year’s Day holiday. He loved this song because Bono says “Nothing changes on New Year’s Day.” My late husband agreed with that thought. Sadly he lost his life at 54 to cancer. I miss him every single minute of the day. RIP Frankie ♥️♥️♥️

Me 2 , for the past 14 or 15 years now since youtube came out , I put on or stream this song , every New Years day.
I used to hear and watch this on MTV in 1983 and always found the video intriguing. In 2023, after many New Year's days have come and gone,"nothing changes!" It's still a masterpiece!
Almost the same thing here. I was at a friends house in 82 and had never watched MTV, so he put it on and this was the video that was playing. I was pretty young and had never seen or heard anything like it. I was captivated as well, and for some reason, still remember that moment to this day.
