Lol up here in Canada they are banned nation wide. Got one from Amazon just for shits and gigs and I was amazed at how well they work.

That gar is good eatin! Has back straps like a deer. Cut em up into little nuggets and use flour instead of cornmeal. Fantastic snack

I feel for you spence. A CAST NET WILL WEAR YOU OUT. I am 61 and I have been throwing a cast net for 35 years! I have been lucky,, no surgery, but lots of physical therapy. One time I casted my 8 ft net and had 20 to 30 - 7 inch crappie and 4 - 3 lb walleye. What a mess when your needing shad.
That's a lot of net throws. Its gonna be a long time before I catch up to ya haha. We call small channel cats "the plague" when ya get em in the net haha

In my opinion Blues are the best looking, then Chans, flats border fugly when it comes to looks, I think anyway lol. I need to venture out of Mn at some point and find blues, not much worried about size, just want to catch and see one in person. Great episode, look forward to the next 👍

Best advice I've heard when talking about cast nets. "Don't get too attached to thes guys" 🤣🤣 my brother has ruined 3 of mine in 2 years he is banned from using my cast nets
2nd best advice: Don't loan out a cast net, unless you know they're gonna replace it😁

One more confession. I never bothered to to take time and practice with the throw net yet always expected it to open fully, which rarely happens. I got one of those cheater nets with the hoop, one of my best buys in the last few years. They weren't lying, literally takes one hand.
