I'm so glad Chad sent us here..I just love all your babies.. beautiful chickens, gorgeous alpacasI Love your energy and humor.. It was so awesome of you to send Chad the hatching eggs. I know he's really looking forward to his new chickens.. and an extra nod for the Ayam Cemani.. we know and love Chad's Ayam Cemani rooster Magneto, but he didn't get to come to the new farm. Chad will be over the moon if he hatches out another Ayam Cemani roo....great job guys! 😄
That’s one of the most interesting videos I have ever watched on eggs. I had not a clue how you got the green eggs. You just don’t see them here so not herd about them except online. Thank you so much.
You guys are so awesome! So cool you got a shout out from a bigger channel! Moving from the city to a 2 acre lot in the mountains in about 2 weeks and so excited to have chickens and fruit trees and just oh my biscuits im so excited!!!
I have also had chickens for about 8 years and making my own olive eggers. I use Black coppers and lavender ameraucanas. They make beautiful hens and eggs! Just subscribed to your channel
Wow very informative. I’m in central Texas. My daughter is going to be getting her first chicks. I will share your channel. Love all the Adler farm channels
I saw the video yesterday of Chad getting the gift of some Olive Eggs to hatch, he was excited and thankful, we watched him put them in the incubator. Can't wait for the little chicks to hatch. That was very nice of you. This video was very informative on the chickens and how we get the different colors. We get a lot of the darker brown ones here with some lighter greens and lighter browns. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. You and Catherine have a beautiful set up for your chickens. Maybe you can show us where you incubate your eggs and when they hatch. Thanks Again. and God Bless.
Wow love your chicken village, Having them altogether makes your life easier and makes for a fun video with all of them trying to help with the video. I also loved the harbor video showing your creative thinking 🤔.
Hey Y'all, I love all the different chickens and the egg colors. When I first found Adler Farms Chad and his son were hatching eggs and raising chickens and I just loved what they were doing.. They had a small set up. Your set up is very impressive I really liked this video. This is the week of the state fair here in Minnesota and I used to go to the animal buildings and spend about half a day there going through all the animals the various breeds I always spent a lot of time in the chicken barn. Thank you for this video Cya next time
Thank you so much ! Appreciate you watching ! And especially appreciate Chad. He has given us an amazing gift by mentioning us. Thank you so much for watching
hi i watch the video of chad getting all the eggs boy was he excited I am loving all your chickens and learning lots more I have started incubating our eggsss the forst two is a new Hampshire red with a black copper Maran rooster and they are so adorable I M ORIGINALLY FROM cONNECTICUT IN OLD LYME now live in mississippi and love raising chickens
I came over from Adler Farms on the last video, and you are very good at explaining things very well,I’m enjoying your videos so far I’m hoping to get to go back and watch from the beginning soon! Love from Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦Omgoodness I’m loving your natural looking chicken coops
Thank you so much for stopping by ! Glad you like the coops ! We built the runs out of those trees and top cuts mostly to save money but are super happy with how they look as well.
I have an olive egger rooster (he's mixed blue copper maran and ameracauna). We bred him with our welsummers and they produced some really beautiful hens but their eggs, mais jamais! They're gorgeous, dark olive with slight speckling, my favorite color eggs so far 😍 we plan to experiment with some new breeds this upcoming year, I'm soooo excited! I found this video super informative, merci 😁
Hidey, came over here from Adler farms so glad he had the video he did today. Come spring I will be ordering eggs to send to my grandkids in Arkansas. I want to find them some cool looking chicken and colored eggs like the olive egger. Do you have ducks as well? They have a large pond on their farm I got them a few Harliquinn Welsh ducks this past year but a coyote got brave and came up to the pond so they only have 4 left. I would love to get them some more ducks as well.
The chart is a tad incorrect. when you breed a F1 Olive Egger to Marans the chicks will be BC (back cross), each daughter will have a 50% chance of laying darker green and 50% change of brown. F1 x F1 is F2
Here because of Adler Farms! You sent them a variety of eggs to hatch and I can't wait to see what comes out of all those eggs! I watched your alpaca video, and I also subscribe to your Channel! 💗💕💗
I love your video. It’s way better than the others I’ve seen so far. Thank you for this. I have a bunch of rainbow chooks and I’m trying to get my head around it all before I take this thing further !! I love them all
Nice thanks for sharing this beautiful video of yours 🥰 I really appreciate your work and effort 💞 Sending My full support to your channel ❤️ stay blessed 💖🙏
Hi you have any f2 olives laying yet?? My f 1s produced some nice eggs. Im just about to hatch some f2s. I started with a Americana hen and Black Copper rooster. Just about every egg she laid was female. I had about 6 hens till the bobcat arrived. So just 2 left and pushing 3 years old and still laying good. The first year they were on fire. Would be be nice to see egg colors on the f2s if available yet. Thanks
Update?? 😊 Also, I have a marans hen that lays a stunning plum colored egg. Is this something I can breed for or is it just chance because she has a heavy bloom?
WHAT 😳… brown + blue = green… Don’t ORDER YET…. We have f1,f2 yadda yadda yadda😳🙄😳😳🤔🤔…. So what about WHITE eggs? BORING… 😎 🐣 … very interesting and yep… cool👍
@@OldReddingFarm ok thanks yes I believe that maybe I can find some one day we have moved from Canada to Mexico 9 months ago and have tried to find some out here but no lock so far
I have a friend that has a hen that produces a pink egg with tiny lavendar spots. She sent me a picture…evidently she hasn’t figured out who is the mom. Her mixed breed flock is all in one aviary with two large coops. I asked her if she had a light reddish brown egg layer and a rooster of a blue egg breed. But if you are getting green with brown and blue, then I am out of suggestions for her. Have you any idea what combo might produce pink eggs? Do you plan on breeding any of your F2 olive eggers back to blue eggers? I would try for a teal color. lol
Wow pink with lavender spots sounds BEAUTIFUL if she could figure that out I'm sure she could sell the hatching eggs to many who would want those colors !
@@OldReddingFarm Not now. My hen got into my neighbor's yard and his German Shepherd killed her. That was while I was living in Tucson and went through a divorce and lost everything, moved back home to Florida to take cer of my mother. I do plan on getting RI REDS and Ameracuanas again and crossing them.
Ditto what Kathy Thompson said. I ❤love y'alls channel.

Is there a reason why you want to make different color eggs. Just asking
Love your set up. When I get a bigger property, I want to do so creative egg colors also. Do you have a link for the egg color chart?
Here is one off Pinterest: images.app.goo.gl/QAn6asQkPoD4Zkp4A

Very informative, thx!!
Glad it was helpful!
And my olive eggs lay dark olive eggs and it also has to do with what they are eating.
I'm interested in purchasing some eggs.
Does the dark egg gene have to come from the rooster or can it be the reverse?
You want a good breed for blue eggs? Get yourself some prairie blue eggers
Oh thanks for that tip I've never heard of those but will look into them

How can you tell Cockerel or Pullets? I have a 5wk old OE I'm hoping is female but s/he's got copper and a green sheen but small comb so far

Unfortunately we can't ship out of the country. So sorry! There's export regulations

And right now we are planning on going back to maran so the olives can get darker, but I'd love to have all the colors
Where do I find those charts
We found them through Google. There are lots of Facebook groups dedicated to colored eggs which also share charts like this
It’s 5%of olive eggs will lay brown
Those 5% refuse to cooperate with us ! 😂🤠
I accidentally got an olive egg from a RI Red to an Americuana.
Oh really ? That's cool. How's the bird look? Equally cute ? Could start a whole new breed
