The Meseta - Burgos to Leon approx 178 km (111 miles)

This film is about the Meseta.
After walking about 10-12 days on the Camino de Santiago, your body starts to get used to walking and then you also arrive at the Meseta.
Meseta Central is a high plateau in central Spain. The area it covers is huge and it also reaches the Camino Frances, between Burgos and Leon.
This part of the Camino is famous among pilgrims because of the beautiful skies, the heat, the fields and long sweeping roads.
Here, time and distance are sometimes difficult to determine.
Many hikers "skip" the Mesetan.
Maybe because they think it will be boring, they are afraid of the heat or for some other reason.
For me, the Meseta is one of the most amazing parts of the Camino de Santiago. It is on the Meseta that you are mentally tested and have the opportunity to think and reflect.
In this video I will present what the roads look like along the Meseta, so expect nothing but roads and nature in this video.

My first camino was the French one. No problems over the Pyrenees, but the Mezetan was terrible. I promised myself to fight to Santiago, but never again. It was a trial to my soul. Should be appropriated I walked three different caminos to.

i thought the Mesta was peaceful I enjoyed very much. the whole Camino was awesome to me. i guess coz I'm 81 and walk slow i would stop and enjoyed the moment.. i want to go back in May 24. take the bus and stop and walk... still so much to see and enjoy . .Buneo Camino

Ich liebe die Meseta ❤. 2015 habe ich den Camino in Carrion de los Condes abgebrochen 😞.2017 habe ich meinen Camino dort wieder gestartet. Ich wollte unbedingt dieses Stück gehen. Und ich bin stolz darauf 😊

You came by my little town at 15:50. Did you take a second to go up into the village? There's a great bar Los Cigueños and a beautiful church up on the hill, plus another one next to the bar. It is very nice in the Spring, not hot at all. Gets super windy and cold in the winter.
