A prayer rule for one who is on the path of a God-pleasing life. Memorizing the Psalms. Replacing long prayers with short ones. The prayer rope.

Begin established prayers, and if others come to mind stop and do them.
Short quality prayer is better than long, zeal-less prayers.
Assimilate the contents of the prayers.
Memorize morning and evening prayers.
Make prostrations. Pray at the end little longer, asking for what you need.
Prayerful attention to God throughout the day. Psalms are good for while doing daily work.
Pray as you fall asleep.
Start with Psalms: 50, 102, 145
Then Psalms: 22, 23, 115, 69
Prayer ropes: Jesus prayer per bead, make prostration each time, add prayers of your own words.
Lift the mind and heart to God.
This was incredibly in depth yet simple. He perfectly explained the pros and the cons to different types of prayer rules while showing how the lifting of the heart and mind to God is most important. This answered so many questions for me.
