Toyotas with 3TC with side draft Weber carbs was a thing you would see everyday in PR in the 80s and 90s. Larry needs to visit Puerto Rico. The guys from 1320 are always blown away by the island's car culture.

As I get older I realize there are so many hidden gems around the world. The locals know, the owners know, but we don’t need to know to make them beautiful and fast so they stay quiet. Thank you to these owners and you Larry for shedding a little light and highlighting these amazing people and incredible builds.

Actually, there are significant differences between the TE21 sedan (Peanut) and the TE27 coupe (Mango) body styles of these 71-74 Corollas. From the firewall forward, they are basically the same; but from the firewall back - totally different. The coupe roofline is about 1.5" lower than the sedan's, the windshield is swept back a bit more. Of course, the rear "windshield" sweep is entirely different with the sedan being more of a "notch" and the coupe looking a bit more like a fastback. So all of the glass and the doors are completely different between the cars because of the roof height difference. And the rear decklid is different. On the sedan the decklid extends down to right above the rear bumper between the tail lights -- the license plate mounts on the vertical portion of the decklid. On the coupe, there is a fixed panel between the tail lights where the license plate mounts - the coupe decklid doesn't have the vertical portion.
FWIW Larry, the 2TC/3TC pushrod hemis were and are an iconic powerplant for the early Corollas. Of course there are contemporary engine choices that are easier to make power with and are more refined. But - they're simply not a 2TC or 3TC. By the way, Yamaha worked with Toyota to create a DOHC head that bolted on the 2T and 3T pushrod blocks. Designated the 2TG (and multiple variations from the early 70's through about 84) they weren't imported to the U.S. - so they're pretty rare in the States.

As a Mopar guy I love how he said " Its actually a Hemi style motor!" Love live the small engines who give the mighty Detroit V8 a run for its money when it comes to making power..

I really like how this car uses an older engine that's more difficult to make power with.
My project car uses a Toyota 1E engine that has been boosted to make over double the stock power (stock was 54hp but still...)
One of the reasons i do it is also bragging rights and being able to say I have the most powerfull one of these motors in the country(maybe even the world because the 1.0l variant is not very popular for power)
    Really enjoyed the video :)
