I often need to say something to be clear about this. Just because I am passionate about a product does NOT mean I was paid to say that. These lights were sent out to me for about a month, I had to send them back and I was not paid anything to make this video or say anything. I just thought this was a really cool new brand that popped up and wanted to share. I will always disclose a sponsored video. Love you all đđ»
yo michael what camera did you use to record this video? Quality is solid.
Wow, literally the most aesthetic compact light kit ever. Iâm here for this đ
Those lights are like đČđ€Żđ€Żđ€ŻâŠ theyâre GORGEOUS! Thanks buddy
Looks like an awesome kit. I love those light stands!!
Woaw this actually looks really nice
Just got my Mini. Great light! Superb build quality! The creator kit is definitely the way to go in terms of value for the money. Yes itâs pricey but if you can splurge on yourself, this is a nice way to do it.
Watching this video just cost me approximately $2000.
Very nice review!
I dig their system (lights, stands, and modifiers) cohesiveness making this a true kit, which would probably be great for travel. Iâm curious, whatâs the deciding factor to buy replace someoneâs existing lights (Godox or Aputure) with this kit?
Awesome review. đ
the light stand looks awesome!
Honestly my favorite part đ carrying huge light stands is the biggest pain. They also have a Pro version for the bigger light. Still looks compact but much beefier.
I just received my mini and my avant. And I paid for with my own money, so donât think Iâm a shill here. But the reason Iâm excited about them is because sometimes you know when youâve been doing this for multiple decades as I have been sometimes you need a little bit of a refresh on creativity to keep that motivation going, but some of the more real world function to is it they are very very compact for their utility. Nice cases, so I donât have to go out and buy a Pelican case and then cut out foam or set up dividers, comes in a very elegant case everything fits in so as the previous guy said you donât have to fill your car with all those giant cases that we normally carry. I have Kino Flo diva 20s, Zylight go panels and none of those come with Cases without paying a lot extra. Also, the light stands are a big deal but make sure you get the right one because they arenât just height differences, theyâre actually weight-bearing differences where the smallest one handles 2 1/2 pounds the 210 handles 4 1/2 pounds the 240 handles 8 pounds and then the 310 handle 17 pounds And yeah the bigger weight bearing ones get super Duper expensive for a light stand but youâre paying for beautiful carbon fiber, top-notch, construction and very light weight but just make sure you get the right ones when you order. Because they donât really have information that tells you that, like the avant needs the 240 or the 310. The mini can work with the 190 or the 210. But the integration of the accessoryâs is really nice because it makes it so much easier to use because I always have to strap their power supply to the go panels and just hang it off of one of the knobs on the light stand where the clamp is just a much more elegant solution, and can also be used for other V-mount batteries and itâs great they used to V-mount because that means itâs compatible with all the V-mount batteries out there too. So itâs not like you have to use theirs if youâve had already invested and another brand, but itâs just a standard DTaP. Also, for anyone buying them if you have trouble connecting them to the app, youâre actually have to go into the light into the menu, Bluetooth settings and reset the settings and that made it recognizable to my phone just another little trouble shooting thing I ran into, otherwise theyâve worked flawlessly and Iâm really looking forward to using them on a shoot coming up next week.
Just one other point you know people do point out the expense and yeah they are expensive but they do come with a lot of accessories that you normally have to pay extra for from other brands. Where with other brands , a lot of the accessories are pretty much just the lowest quality pieces of junk. Where these are actually very nice quality, well machined all metal and very high-quality plastic so like I said chances, are buy one of these kits youâve got everything you need in one kit.
Letâs just look at Stella pro, the base hybrid strobe with battery and one lens is $1100, itâs only 5600K, cto glass filters are like $120, barn doors are $100, other lenses are $70âŠplus you need a case⊠so as you can see other brands add up pretty quickly to including aputure and godox when you start getting all the accessories.
Dude these are so dope
Nice, I subscribed to their channel thankx!
Itâs an elgato studio desk light with a handsome faux leather mono light esthetic⊠Did you test the CRI etcâŠ?
What the price will be ?
Beautiful looking lights. This would be great for a studio setup that you want to still look nice. Not sure if I would want them as my main lights though.
While I was shocked by how well even the mini 20W performed, I would definitely want the 300W Pro as my key for most situations. But in my real world examples you can see the Avant did great too.
@@initialfocus I think these are to nice looking to lug around. I prefer basic designs that are built like tanks. These are too nice looking for every day work haha.
@@initialfocus how much noise came from the fan, was it noticable in silence?
@@GirizdL you can turn the fans off.
@@GirizdL now that I have one of each of their lights, the fan right next to it is definitely very noticeable, but get a few feet away, and I canât even hear it, and frankly any real working distance subject to light will not be noticeable in my experience.
Why are these lights so expensive?! Is it because of the build quality? I have 2 200x amarans for the price of one of those bi color hobolites thats only 100w. I don't get it.
They look great! Feels like Hasselblad but I wouldnât pay so much! 2,999.00 for a 300 watt bi color kit? Look is not enough to feed one.
Lol Yup
Looking at the thumbnail, I thought hasselblad came up with new camera đ
And then Zhiyun MOLUS lights crush these by offering smaller & more practical lights with similar specs, outside of the pro, for a much more reasonable price. Also, while those light stands are beautiful looking,at $600 each I think I can carry slightly bigger stands with such small lights.
Canât get excited before i see the price, and based on the design I highly doubt many would be able to afford those lights
@@Hobolite what will be the price of softboxes and stands?
@@Hobolite but $800 for a 100W light is super steep in comparison to what's out there.
@@Hobolite the stands are now priced $399, +$50 since this reply. âHoboâ is not the word I think of when it comes to premium priced products. That said, the stands are very nice. I look forward to competing brands and/or price points.
What does âa VIBEâ mean?
vibe, adj. slang - short for vibration. meaning a type of energy, usually good.
when someone says "it's a vibe" they usually mean it feels good/pleasant. you may also say "bad vibe" meaning you had a bad feeling about something. hope that helps.
You might've crashed their site đ€Ł
HATE the design from a design perspective. I think if you need that look on weddings or some other kind of production where the lights are seen, thats probably perfect. Just not my style. I also donât things this company will be around in 1.5 years, but who knows!
One thought I had was if they could come out with a black leather option it could be less "in your face" style for those who dont want that.
I think Hobolite is part of a much larger company, so itâs likely itâll be around âŠ
Itâs beautiful classy design idk what ur talking about lol as a videographer or photographer ur saying that I would hate to see ur work. This is as simple as it gets leather is just an unbeatable look. Itâs vintage look
Whoever told you that 'mini-bowens' isn't an official term is pedantic a$$. Every 'official' word in the dictionary wasn't a word until someone created it to communicate a concept. It communicates, so screw 'em.
Mid mid mid
How much and when can I get them? :)
