    Hi there, thanks for your review of the Anleon S2. Very impressive for the performance to price ratio! Not tp mention its seemingly robust construction and durability. I have been looking for a cheap entry level monitor system for our church. Thanks again!

    Hi there. Thank you for your thorough review of the S2. It was very helpful as I'm encourage our music team to purchase them. Based on your review, I bought a unit from Alibaba in Dec 2020 and received the product a couple of days ago Feb 2021. For an inexpensive entry level unit $130 NZD, its a great way to get started in In-Ear monitoring. It works great and does the job. I'm about to test it out at church this Sunday. No problem with the frequency range. The supplied ear plugs aren't the greatest, but they do an ok job. I will probably purchase the KZ AS10 Pro Ear Plugs later down the track. Unfortunately If you live in NZ, it takes bout 7-8 weeks to arrive. I totally recommend to any muso or singer getting the S2 if you're needing a great little In-Ear monitoring system. Money well spent!

    Thanks for another great review, you have a lot of good info.
    Interesting that just plugging in a single XLR into the Mono input and selecting the Mono option doesn't solve the loss of sound problem. I've currently got a hard wired unit (Behringer P1) and I only use one XLR on the Mono setting and it all works fine. I thought the point of the Mono setting was to take all the incoming signals and just split it equally between left and right channels.
    Re the operating frequency, I'm in Melbourne and I read on the ACMA site that the allowed frequency was dropped to 520MHz-694MHz back around 2014/15.
    I could be wrong but I think certain TV transmissions also broadcast within this range and If I read it correctly it was suggesting to try and stick around 520MHz-526MHz. I have little experience on these issues and I'm not sure if NZ has different regulations but from your experience have you found a sweet spot within the allocated band width?
    And finally, even though it's useful, do you find the delay in sound the limiter creates off putting when you're playing live? I'm just wondering how easily it goes off if you're drummer is mic'd up and hits the snare too hard. I'm assuming it's a preset and you can't adjust the threshold.

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi again, yes it seems the mono function on this one is set up so you can run two seperate mono feeds and have the unit mix them to both ears. It would be good if it worked in traditional mono as well. I have wondered about TV signals here too, as all of our TV is now run through UHF. I haven’t really found a sweet spot, but I feel like the 600 range works a bit better here. As for the limiter, I don’t find it too distracting (now that is has a short release time). It doesn’t go off too often, I normally have kick and snare in my mix. But yes it is a fixed limiter without any adjustments. However with a lot of digital desks you can set up a limiter for your in ear feed on the desk. Then you can set your own threshold, but would need to be lower than the units threshold to have any effect. Hope that helps.

      @@GroundbreakCreative Thanks for your reply. Our guitarist has a pretty decent Allen and Heath desk which comes with software for your smartphone or ipad etc so you're probably right about finding a way to limit the sounds and I'm sure the desk itself will have that option. Overall it seems like a reasonably good unit, especially for the price.

      @alex-kenivel Před 5 lety +2

      As long as you're getting a mono summation from the desk it shouldn't be a problem. I did this just yesterday with a single 1/4" jack into the right input, with the transmitter set to mono

      CHEECH Hernandez Hi there, so I use this unit on a regular basis in a venue with four wireless Mics and between 100 & 200 people with cell phones between me and the transmitter. It works fine for me, although I did get some interference between my transmitter and an old wireless mic receiver when the two units were positioned right next to each other. Moving them about 2 feet apart solved the problem. The 500mhz range offered on this unit is the 526-534 ish, so that’s the one to get, the link in the description should direct you to that model.

    You said you put on a larger antenna. Antennas are built to be a particular length so they will most efficiently broadcast the frequency the product is on. Is your larger antenna made to match the transmitter's output frequency?
    I may have a range problem but I don't need the limiter. Is it possible to turn off the limiter on the old model? If so, where can I find one of the old ones? What's its model number?
    Thanks so much for the effort. The resulting clarity is VERY helpful!

      Hi there, I’m not quite clear on what you’re asking. The transmitter only has main inputs, what you put in is what comes out. If the receiver is turned off, you will hear nothing through it. You can use it for live performances as long as you’re not in a huge venue, I do that regularly (when I’m not on covid 19 lockdown here in NZ).

    I have a Behringer XR18 which has 6 aux outputs.
    If I use this anleon s2 and connect both left and right xlr outputs to 2 of the aux outputs on the mixer, that should give me a stereo effect allowing me to pan my instruments around right ?
    Would I also be able to pan them using only one of the xlr connections on the back of the anleon instead of two ?
    Just trying to save the outputs for other users, instead of using them both up on one IEM

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 4 lety

      Yes the first option will work. The second option will also work if you use a split cable, like the one shown in the video. However, that second option will only work if your mixer will allow you to pan instruments on a single monitor out, a lot of mixers won’t give that option.

    Hey there. I was searching for a cheap transmitter for IEMs and discovered the updated S2, watched your video on the old one, which prompted me to buy it. Thank you so much for these reviews. I've been using it all week. I find I have to watch the signal going into the transmitter to make sure it isn't too hot or I get clipping, but the receiver has plenty of volume on tap to make up for it. Perhaps that was what that other user was having trouble with. Anyway, while playing audio through my transmitter (music, guitar, or even just a simple mic), the receiver also gets plenty of hissing noise (sounds like the snares of a snare drum rattling from a bass in the room) that changes in amplitude along with the audio signal. I've contacted deepdeal on Amazon and they're sending a new receiver. Do you experience this issue?

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 5 lety

      Hi, I do get a bit of that background noise, but mine disappears as the volume of the instruments increases. My signal effectively drowns out the background noise. Hopefully a new transmitter will solve the issue for you.

      Sure is, would be ideal if you each had your own units, so you can have your own mix. Otherwise you could send one mix to 5 belt packs.

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 3 lety

      Hi there, yes I use it in Church every week. I will say I’ve never actually tried running 6 receivers. The most I’ve used together is 2. But it should work in theory. Just be aware that with only one transmitter, all 6 receivers will get the same mix. If you are buying, or buying anything on amazon using the link in the description would help me out, they give me a tiny percentage of sales.

  • @jondnz
    @jondnz Před 3 lety

    On the receiver packs, can you choose the balance between left and right on the receivers. EG can one receiver receive ALL of just the left channel and another receiver receive ALL of the right side from the same transmitter?

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 3 lety

      I know what you’re getting at, but no this unit isn’t quite that advanced. Each pack will just receive the full L&R stereo mix from the transmitter. You would need another transmitter to send another mix to a different frequency. You could possibly jimmy the headphone cable to take just the L side then re-split it to both ears.

    So we can use our iPhones to do our own mixes through that performer app.... does that mean we’ll have to spend $100 per belt pack for the licence to do that (Our own mixing) ?

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 5 lety

      Being able to set your own mix is to do with the mixer you are sending from. We use the behringer x32 digital console, which has an app to adjust your mix. A lot of other digital mixers offer similar apps, but this unit simply transmits what the desk is sending out. Buying this unit won’t allow you to set your own mix via an app.

    Hi
    How do you set two mono mixes from one system ?
    I currently have 2 of these with 6 packs.
    I want to put 5 people on one transmitter - 3 on one mono mix and 2 on the other mono mix.
    Leaving me to use the other transmitter in stereo mode (because I bought them lol ).
    I’ve already tried pushing the mono button and panning things hard left and hard right, but it’s still the one mix.

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 4 lety

      RexyFan, you will need to have two seperate cables plugged in, one for each mix. The receivers will however receive both of those mixes, one in the left ear, one in the right ear. So people would need to use just one ear piece either the left or the right. They are really set up for running a stereo mix to a single person.

    What if our female singers are wearing dresses. Where would they connect that body pack with the belt clip ?

    • @GroundbreakCreative
      @GroundbreakCreative  Před 5 lety

      Hmmm, not too sure on that one, the would almost need to wear dresses with belts. Or wear a pair of shorts under the dress to clip it to. The volume knob could’ve turned through the fabric. Or change to skirt or pants and tops I guess. There really isn’t any easy to clip it directly to a dress, but any in ear unit will have the same type of clip.

    • @bowenmoss5613
      @bowenmoss5613 Před 5 lety +3

      Hey, I am a stage hand who has worked on Jay-z Beyoncé’s recent tour. Most large shows like that have an elastic belt with a Velcro pouch. This belt goes under their outfit and the cables are taped tight to their body to avoid it pulling it getting caught on stuff during their performance and quick changes. They have audio engineers who communicate with the talent during sound check and the show to make sure their monitor feed is right. The talent rarely adjusts their own IEMs unless they can’t communicate with their monitor engineer.

    Hi Brought 4 of these in the UK (863-865 mhz) for our band and i'm really disappointed!
    When using 1 unit drop out is noticeable from 6 feet (1-2 sec) and it seems really affected by people walking across the signal path.
    If i turn units 2-4 on then drop out becomes unbearable, if we add instruments into the mix, sound quality is dreadful especially bass tones and the signal strength seems to suffer again!!
    when i put earphones straight into the transmitter jack the sound quality is so much better.. it's almost like they suffer from lack of transmit power..
    I've built an external aerial unit to see if that helps but no change. I've also put a signal strength meter on them and its all perfect. so can only assume that the Anleon S2 is not up to the job!
