How exciting to be recruited by the Legend Stevie Ray Vaughan. ❤
Would love to have been a fly on the wall during their working and friend relationship.
Now you know Stevie had to be a fun, fair, humble boss to anyone that worked for and helped to make Stevie a better performer. What a job for the ages! ❤
Thank you Rene for being there for Stevie Ray Vaughan. You helped to sculp him even further for the world to witness his greatness!!

What a delightful interview. I'm a Dallas boy. Charley's Guitar shop customer from the get-go. I own a custom CGS S syle guitar. The 'Pink Thang' Textone model. Renee did a beautiful broken headstock repair on my SG. Y'all also redesigned and rebuilt a 50's LP Special for me. I used to hang with SRV at St. Cristopher's when there were about 5 people in the audience. Played a lot of dates with the T-Birds. Frets & Strings...man. This interview is memory lane for me. Miss all y'all. Good times indeed. Peace.

Rene is a wonderful story teller. And by his temperament, I can see why he’s guitar tech extraordinaire.

Not many guitarists ask the tech to raise the action! Great stuff, Rene! 👌🏻🎸🖖🏻

Stevie is the only one I've heard of wanting the strings higher. Even then he knew he was looking for a sound.

I’ve always preferred a high action.
It just feels better, feels like you have more freedom to experiment with sound, and I’ve also always thought that it creates a richer sound.
