    Klein electrician scissors are great for stripping the small gauge wire of igniters. They have a little V notch on the back of the blade that you pull the wire through to strip it. We use them all the time to cut and strip ematches when setting up fireworks displays. It’s a good crossover to model rocketry use.

    Isn’t this how they lit the Shuttle Boosters? From the top?

    Can you please make a video on how to MAKE body tubes?
    Please, genuine request...

      Maybe. There are two articles in our newsletter archives on how to make tubes - spiral wound and convolute wound. You can check those out in the mean time.

    How do you load the igniter into a Cesaroni Pro54 when the core is offset from the nozzle? E.g. a I100 Thank you in advance.

    • @apogeerockets
      @apogeerockets  Před rokem +1

      Just feel around with the igniter until it finds the hole. It isn't hard.

    Will this work with a fuse? Or will it prematurely ignite the grain before reaching the top?

    • @apogeerockets
      @apogeerockets  Před 11 měsíci +1

      NOPE! A fuse will be spit out of the nozzle by the pressure, long before it burns to the top where the motor needs to be ignited. You have to start the burn at the top, never the bottom.

      @@apogeerockets Thank you, what Igniter did you use in the demonstration?

    • @apogeerockets
      @apogeerockets  Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@Ikej873 The motor comes with one igniter. It is probably the First Fire Mini from Aerotech. If you visit our website, and find the motor's product page, it will always list which igniter comes with. That way you can buy spares if needed.

    Do the economax f-class motors have ejection charges? if not how do rockets of this size eject thier parachutes?

    • @apogeerockets
      @apogeerockets  Před 2 lety

      Any motor with a number after the dash has an ejection charge. So yes. The economax motors do have a ejection charge.

    Can you use a composite motor as a two stage on the main rocket will it ignite normally?

    • @apogeerockets
      @apogeerockets  Před 3 lety

      Nope. As the video stressed... you have to ignite the composite motor from the top. You can't do that using direct staging.

    Have you ever ignited a motor in the shop by mistake? Just wondering.
