  • With mid-March to the early stages of April falling over the spring break period for the majority of the US, it has become somewhat of a tradition hosting families on safari over this period each season for family hunt. It’s not only an exciting time of the year as the younger generation steps up to the rifle, but a fun part of our season as the focus is very much on the youngsters and the time spent in the field together on safari. The family bonding that takes place away from the rush of everyday life and the cellular world kids live in cannot be compared to anything else out there.
Toby, Tammy, Vivian and Simon Risko not only experienced the adventures associated with a hunt but made a few new friends along the way too. Enjoy this families safari with them, it would be great to see the look of fondness of the memories they will look back on some years down the line.

I have to say that the PH here is absolutely top notch. Sharing some really sound knowledge about the animal being hunted in addition to hunting technique.
Tobie, respect to you for handing the rifle to the PH on the Nyala. Your and your children’s shooting was great to see. All round great video of what seemed like an awesome hunt.

I concur with all the people commending the PH for the job he did with the young man. From everything I've read and heard about the professionalism of John X Safaris PHs, I am very much looking forward to a similar experience when I go on my first safari, in March.

There's nothing like hunting at this age, I just hope that this young man appreciated the experience and success. This a dream hunt for all of us. Good shooting.

I can honestly say out on the 1000's of hunting videos I have watched on CZcams this is hands down the greatest video. Well done for affording those kids the opportunity of a lifetime.

Great video, a father has given his kids a memory of a lifetime in Africa, good patient hunter and knows when to let the PH take over, we know many a Buffalo hunt gone wrong without listening to the PH, well done 👍🏽

Bravo ! Wonderful safari, awesome family vacation and bonding.
The PH was a true professional in every sense of the word.
    * Not a criticism, but on your return trip
(and I'm sure that there will be),
please show the lodge you stayed at.
John X has three spectacular lodges, but I'm sure the audience would be taken by the amenities.
    * For those who've never been, a couple of my favorite quotes:
Ernest Hemingway, "I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke up that I was not happy " and
"The only man I envy is man who's not yet been to Africa, for he has so much to look forward to".

John X Safaris do you have any that you like most on the thinner skinned animals like impala and so I’m guessing? The reason I ask is I’m head on a trip to hunt axis deer soon so similar to fallow and want to know the bullet you would use. Thanks

Stix! All round best PH around, hunted with him years ago, So much patience. 1 thing i did notice, you should really teach the youngsters to wait until the PH tells him to shoot. Twice Stix is still busy talking and the little dude shoots and having to take unnecessary 2nd shots\

There is certainly no justification to this debauchery!, honestly. I pray that one day the Azanian gvt will have to put an end to this animal cruelty. Worst of if it’s the local Bantus killing their own birthright animals for food!, pink foreigners cry and call it poaching. When they kill for fun to a point of even abusing their own kids, in the process they call it conservation and hunting??, let’s be honest with each other. This is a grotesque game that’s masquerading as a form of sophistication and the worst form of intellectual slavery ever in 2020. Cry my beloved Azania.
