Yesterday we went to the cinema to see the film Miasto 44 which I suspect will be translated into English as Uprising 1944 or Warsaw 1944. I went with a large degree of scepticism as it was billed as a love story in times of war which is the reason I did not go to see last year's Russian production on Stalingrad. Indeed the billing as 'love in the times of apocalypse' almost put me completely off from seeing it. However the only complaint I can find about the film is the publicity and the producers really need to find another marketing agency. This is not a love story but the most realistic war film I have ever seen. It was filmed last year and put on general release on 19 September 2014. The characters shown are fictional but it is based on fact and cleverly manages to get various parts of Warsaw into the film without being obvious. We see therefore fighting in the Old Town, city centre and Czerniaków region as well as the Wola massacres. The film shows none of the convenient symbols of war films such as heroism but rather the conflicting parties to the 1944 Warsaw uprising. It clearly shows that large parts of the population were opposed to it such as the mother whose son will go away, civilians who do not want to share their shelters with other civilians and civilians complaining at the rebels. The directors also make a clear link between the start of the Uprising and the massacres in the Wola district as though the latter was a result of the former. Żeby zobaczyli kopiować i dawać do innych komentarzy!PS:Brygada-Józef Pawłowski,Zofia Wichłacz,Anna Próchniak,Antoni Królikowski, SZYBKO DO PUKI WYGLĄDAJĄ MŁODO,Wiem że jesteście młodzi no ale w tym filmie wyglądaliście cudownie !!
Ja trochę nie rozumiem zakończenia bo Stefan płynie na tą wyspę i jest tam Biedronka i to mu się przywidziało czy ona naprawdę też tam była? Bo jak już jest pokazane na ten most to na wyspie siedzi 1 osoba a nie 2
Ja już rozumiem. Biedronka umarła w tym szpitalu była na stosie ludzi w prawym dolnym rogu i jako jedyna miała tą swoją sukienkę, była ubrana. Ten niemiec ją najprawdopodobnie zgwałcił a potem zabił. A ta na tej mieliźnie to był tylko wymysł Stefana. Niestety wojna taka jest, wszystko możesz stracić w każdej chwili...
Zgoda co do klimatu filmu. Może nie całkiem psują, lecz jednak czynią z tego filmu hollywoodzki melodramat. Mimo olśniewającej kreacji Zofii Wichłacz, obraz przez nią wykreowany niewiele, jak sądzę, ma wspólnego z rzeczywistością. Powstańcza młodzież to byli ludzie zrobieni z zupełnie innego ciasta niż dzisiejsze dzieciaki nawskroś zindoktrynowane przez neokomunistycznych lewaków. Jestem w takim wieku, że ludzie wychowani przed wojną mnie otaczali i wychowywali, przez całe dzieciństwo wzrastałem “w cieniu bohaterów”, kiedy wokół były jeszcze pozostałości ruin Warszawy.
